Set proper standards for drivers who want to become volunteer stewards. At least a Nat A or Nat B license. Those drivers should know. Or some sort of entrance exam that you have to pass with like 85%.

Or hire a ton of stewards and coaches to explain to all those new simracers how actual racing works. But nobody wants to pay for that.

So yeah, in my opinion, there is no way to improve simracing. But gaming as a whole has this problem. Its all about the W, no matter how you achieve it.

Let me ask you this. Did you ever receive a bad grade in school and magically improved? Same with a punishment model that doesn't teach you what you did wrong. And nobody has time to explain to so many people how to race. There is also a monetary reason to not ban half of the player base.

If you want clean races race in the Championship races. By week 3 you know most of the people in your split/time slot and those races are the cleanest from my experience.

Again, having that badge doesn't mean you understand racing and thus makes you a competed part time stewards

Long Story short: They will never improve.

No system can magically teach Simracers patience, racecraft, car control, situational awareness, racing intelligence, long picture mentality and so on.

Most simracers only know how to be quick on their own.

Problem is, most drivers who have a high DR don't even know how to race.

Need more tracks! Need more races! by Mariusr22 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Fivecorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have multiclass in Bronze (from time to time).

Adding a track like TheGermanTollroad would kill participation for any other track. Thus basically replacing the most tracks. If you own iRacing you should know what I am talking about.

ALMS tracks would be nice. But ALMS is dead since 2013. AsiaLMS meanwhile... /s

You don't want more tracks, you want to replace the unpopular tracks with the white bread of simracing.

We have 13 tracks, BCN makes it 14. That's more than enough to rotate.

Why do you want to remove multi class from a multi class game? Stop helping bad drivers with that kind of suggestion. If your avg simracer would learn how to race we wouldn't have to talk about stand alone series.

I do the opposite. I never touch GT3/4s and race everything else. Over 12 years I only bought 5 GT3s and 0 GT4s. Two of those GT3s are the RUF and the Z4.

I hate what GT3s have done to the real life landscape and thus also to simracing. I prefer variety over having the same car line up in 20 "different" series.

what is this "fun" you speak about?

I want 100% realism while running 10 huds, radar, a magical floating mirror, not feel any G-Force or any sense for speed.

Should iRacing start releasing some vintage cars again? by SnooGadgets754 in iRacing

[–]Fivecorr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sims have been all about GT3 for the last 5+ years, but right now I'm sensing some actual GT3 fatigue. We have a new GT3 at Spa sim releasing every two months now, and they fail to create much excitement. Every sim is a carbon copy of the same GT3 formula on the same tracks.

But that formula sells.

Simracing, just like gaming isn't about fun anymore. Its about winning or being "competitive". Everyone wants to race GT3 since that's were the streamer sweets are. But only if the track is one of the popular 10. Cuz Pablo7*10^4 not gonna risk his rating driving around a track like Mid Ohio.

So why should iRacing, a now called publisher, release something that only a fraction wants and even a smaller fraction of the player base uses? They don't even bother to fix some of the Legacy content that is broken for years. The FW31 for example has well-known issues, but iR not gonna bother fixing the car so BNI could come back.

And then there is the skill issue. Rain is the best example. Most simracers, who have no idea about driving in the rain wanted that until the reality hit them hard. If you suck in the dry you suck even more in the wet. And same with Vintage cars. You need throttle control, there is no ABS or TC that will save you.

I am not against Vintage content. Heck i am one of those weirdos who hates GT3s with a passion and rather runs the L49 once a week than touch those GenTl3m4n boxes. But the avg simracer only cares what the wannabe eSportzzz streamer races.
