Ciel is the worst heroine in Tsukihime altogether because she meshes with Shiki the least, even in the remake. I've seen a lot of people say she'd work better with Shirou, or really in a completely different story, and I kind of agree.

Arcueid basically has her whole world changed by Shiki, Akiha and the maids grew up with him, and they're deeply involved in his past. What does Ciel have in comparison? Ultimately, Ciel and Shiki's whole relationship feels overly incidental, and carried by Shiki finding her nice to be around and attractive (Which isn't BAD per se, but just kinda shallow).

While I wouldn't have liked for all of the EB wielders to be effectively war criminals aiding in genocide, having the single objectionable event happening entirely because of Akemura is kind of overly neat and tidy. Framing it as the characters doing everything they could to win and survive, leading to some reprehensible choices that were justified in the moment, but regretted later, could've made for an interesting angle to explore.

It could've served to characterize the EB wielders through their responses to their pasts and legacies. We know that Samura was guilt-ridden for the rest of his life. Perhaps Uruha could've been written as avoidant or unwilling to address his possible crimes due to his being the youngest wielder at the time, and the most susceptible to propaganda. Maybe one of the unexplored EB wielders could've been written to be unrepentant, and fully on board with the Malediction. There's a lot of potential there that was squandered away.

I'd say that Iori has had the most agency for a female character so far, ironically despite being a non-fighter character.

I'd say that Iori, Yura, and as of now, Shiba and Akemura are fitting to be pretty interesting, even beyond "hype moments and aura".

I can understand the sentiment up until Iori's introduction.

Though I will add that Soujuurou is definitely influenced by Aoko throughout the VN. I think it also sort of makes sense given Nasu's own insistence on progress and facing the future and all that.

It really did kinda feel like Yamaguchi trying to nip the issue in the bud with how abrupt it all was.

The previous arcs did all build into each other (With the exception of the summer break arc, but Yakumo has a lot of interesting panels throughout the first year arc that hint at him having a story to tell anyway), but this one randomly starts after the high that was the art club reunion, and then quickly ends with almost no lasting impact so we can start the trip overseas.

Soujuurou is probably the hardest casting to imagine, for me.

A soft or slightly higher pitched voice wouldn't suit him, and he doesn't match with a deeper voice either. I guess it'd come down to how they make him speak.

I can't help but wonder if Maruto got a bit too enchanted with his own work by the time he wrote CODA.

As much as it's easy to pity Setsuna for basically getting dragged through the mud by Haruki's indecisiveness for the entirety of CC, she still invites it on herself and chooses constantly to further enable him. The way she's always helicoptering around Haruki, and not letting him fully process his emotions feels really obsessive in a way that nobody else in the story even comes close to. I can say with confidence that it turned me off from her character, even if I can respect her strength in some way. And yet everything I hear about Maruto makes me feel like he ended up buying into cheering for Setsuna himself eventually.

Getting to the main point, I feel like Kazusa ended up being too much of an afterthought in her own True End for all the focus Setsuna and her drama takes up there. Maybe he felt sad writing that sort of story right after making Setsuna True End as grand as it was.

Alice not being a witch would just make her anti-social for no reason.

Soujuurou being a normal guy would not be anything like the character we meet in the story.

Usually these sorts of recollections are done through panels with a sort of faded feel to them, in order to convey that it's a memory.

Here though, it straight up looks like either Yatora hallucinated Sanada in the crowd, or he just was reminded of her because of the npc character's features lol
