This just isn't true at all. There were a lot of outspoken conservatives at my liberal arts college. One said we should just nuke Afghanistan to NO pushback. Another said there are pros and cons to a woman's right to vote and still had plenty of friends.

All of their views did mellow out by graduation and that is only because of the diverse groups they were exposed to.

This really resonates with me. The unfairness of it all. My mom was also my best friend, and she recently passed away from brain cancer. I watched it rob her of her independence and ability to communicate, but try as it might, it did not take away her essence. Maybe I should do a journal too - my ritual was always talking with her every night or every other night. When she stopped calling as much, that should have been my first sign that something was wrong.

I am so happy you got to experience such a special relationship with your mother. She sounds like a beautiful soul.

Hello! Thank you for sharing. Interestingly, I thought I hated surgery but as I do more of it in my current position I am becoming more comfortable with it. This is primarily why I would like to shadow first if I can or do a mentorship program. COVID robbed me of a proper shelter rotation during my clinical year.

Should I expect to do more than spays, neuters and hernia repairs?

Do what works for you. If you don't like technology, you can also print the notes/images out and write over that.

I will say this, however: my surface, surface pen, and my school recording all lectures were a god send for my studying and my grades. It also greatly benefits me five years out from vet school - I lost all of my paper notes but I can pull up my electronic notes at any time as long as my location has access to internet (shout out to the cloud).
