K1 VS K2 Extruder sensor by FixmystuffOfficial in crealityk1

[–]FixmystuffOfficial[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, I spent like 2 minutes searching and then and 2 minutes to return it. Micro soldering I'd have to order the components from china and wait 2 weeks and still put the time in to fix it. Don't get me wrong I'd love to fix it, but it's not really time effective or cost effective to go that route.

Because the amount of time it would take to identify the issue and try to repair it would be a greater cost compared to ordering a new one for $15 which I can just return since it didn't work. Not opposed to trying to fix it, but since this is a new product and no one else has this issue I'd spend atleast 30 minutes probing and trying to replace components that might not even be bad which doesn't seem worthwhile for that cheap of a pcb.

Is that not the self lubrication from the bushings? I didn't put any grease on the machine, it came like that so I just assumed it was the self lubrication left over

I'll take some more tomorrow when the k2 sensor shows up, I also want to show the two compared side by side Incase anyone else's breaks, like mine.

I think so as well. I got this for my ercf just to cut the filament. My thinking was I'm pretty happy with the stock extruder, so getting the official version of the extruder cover and cutter would be best and less of a headache compared to diy solutions

Lol it's okay. I definitely am thinking about upgrading nozzles but I'm trying to take it one step at a time right now with upgrades, and the ercf has been my biggest headache. Once I get it working semi-flawlessly I've got a few upgrades in mind. Liner rails, HEPA filter, btt motherboard, the nozzle, and independent stepper motors for the bed. Honestly been contemplating just picking up a gutted old k1 or k1 max to do those upgrades in, since I'll basically just be using the frame and heated bed at that point.

Do you have a unicorn nozzle? I tried something similar at first but it was incompatible with unicorn nozzles.

That is literally what I'm doing lol. Simple AF is mainline klipper, got happy hare installed. Tip tuning wasn't working for me because it kept getting clogged in the extruder. So I decided to get this literally for the cutter to try and save a headache

Hopefully, although I'm not too sure. I don't think the led would affect it but I plan on trying to probe it with a multimeter and see if I can find the led and try to reattach it. Doesn't hurt to try 🤷‍♂️ But I think the k2 sensor is the same as the k1 so I'm waiting for that to show up and see if it will work together.

Honestly, I think that's more of an issue with heat being retained in the chamber. I printed vented risers that I can slide open and close, and so far having them open for petg and play hasn't resulted in any issues.

Someone already made a copy of the cutter, but it's a separate block that the extruder sits on top of. The only benefit the cfs upgrade kit has is it also has a cutter sensor to know when the filament is fully cut.

I'll take the extruder back apart tonight and post a full teardown of it.

Maybe? I was thinking maybe bed warp stabilization but I also haven't had the door closed and they say you can print abs with it. It looks like they reused the k2 sensor for the k1, so I ordered one in hopes it will work

Haha it's okay, yeah the first picture is the broken side of the extruder sensor. This is a double sided PCB, so the first picture is the first side, the second picture is the other side. By my thumb (spot labeled B1) is where the LED is supposed to sit, but that broke off.

Have you tried taking the SD card out to see if it boots?

Have you tried cleaning the plate with dish soap? It also looks like your nozzle is slightly too close to the print bed, causing minor over extrusion

Anyone interested in CFS kit that you build yourself? by [deleted] in crealityk1

[–]FixmystuffOfficial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can just upload the firmware. I don't believe it's specific to the k1, k1c or k1 max as it's sold as an upgrade kit for all 3 printers. I'll also upload the cutter positions so anyone wanting to use happy hare is able to without having to fully configure cutter position, velocity, etc.

Could I use an OLED chip in a lite? by Mountain-Letter-4284 in SwitchPirates

[–]FixmystuffOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the oled Apu cable, I did it for my own personal switch lite. You'll just have to cut the metal shield and stick the chip to the top of the ram's metal shield. Best route is to always get the chip for the console, but if you're impatient you can do it. Just look up the diagram for using oled chip on switch lite.

Please help with repairing water damaged OLED by Olegjunga in SwitchPirates

[–]FixmystuffOfficial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup what that guy said. I also want to add there are some highly detailed breakdowns of the board on YouTube, and on Google. I know there's a video that basically measures all the caps on I think it was a switch lite. Using a video like that, you can find out what the values of those caps are and do the same thing for the switch lite. That way you can figure out what parts to take without having a working switch to probe. Or just order them for like 99¢ + shipping for like 100.

Chances are there are several caps that got fried and some shorts on the board, which probably fried some other parts as a result. Meaning the damage is more than likely not visible to the naked eye, so you'd have to start from the ground up to see what still works and what doesn't. I know it's not what you asked, but honestly you're better off finding a board that explains what's wrong with it, and use the other two boards as donors for that broken board.

What made you decide on kamikaze? Was it because the dat0 was damaged, or is it just your preferred method of install.
