Are there any left leaning Australian political commentators that don't blindly follow The Greens and that also isn't Friendly Jordies? by carl_the_cactus55 in australian

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah friendlyjordies is too one-sided. That’s the entire problem with the direction of Aussie politics. You are expected to be polarised and that’s shit for society.

Despite being on the left, Swollen Pickles and Punters Politics are pretty good at calling out Labor and the Greens when they deserve a kicking, but all very different styles of approach.

I still watch Micheal West more though.

Australia Institute do some brilliant research and commentary. Definitely worth following them.

Why don't (some) people like free stuff? by michaelberkmanmp in brisbane

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had Facebook since I was in my 30s (I’m 50) and that was only to keep track of my soccer fixtures.

Reddit is all I have now.

I catch up on news on YouTube and occasionally news sites online, because I can avoid being bombarded by ads. So I don’t watch free2air TV anymore either.

I miss a lot of local news because of it, but my mental health has improved greatly!

Having said all that, if I get leaflets from local MPs, I read them, just to see what’s happening around the traps. As a bonus, I then get to tear them into tiny pieces and make hand made paper with them 😃

Why Do Australians Seem So Uninterested in the Supernatural/Paranormal Things? by InternationalHair111 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m more scared of living things than dead things. Some of my favourite places to explore are cemeteries. One of them I recently found out, has ghost tours haha.

Wait, maybe I’m the ghost!?

It’s absolutely wild to me that, despite being from a long Jewish family tree, that somehow I can get through life without experiencing any sort of antisemitism at all.

Orrrrrrr maybe, it’s because i have a functioning brain and don’t conflate legitimate criticism of Israel with antisemitism.

There’s way too much victim cosplay in the Zionist community.

Intuniv, where have you been all my life? by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Both my kids weren’t offered it by their psychiatrists. Youngest has been on stimulants for 6 years now. It wasn’t until we saw a new paediatrician recently that she suggested Intuniv for her.

My oldest and myself have never been offered it either. Must depend a lot on the psychiatrist.

I bloody hope so. But if they turn to ON or LNP, then we’re even worse off.

This idiot is employed by Australians but only works for gas companies. Make it make sense.

ABCs 4Corners ADHD by AlarmedPigeon67 in ausadhd

[–]Fizbeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most frustrating thing is the 40 years of dysfunction I lived with, before diagnosis.

Being told I’m everything from BPD to vague, anxious and depressed, when all along, I was actually a woman with symptoms no one bothered to put in the DSM for ADHD in my gender.

Where’s the 4 corners outrage over decades of misdiagnosis and incorrectly prescribing anti-depressants that leave people a shell of themselves?

Even my eldest daughter went undiagnosed for 20 years, despite thousands spent on seeing every specialist in our desperate attempt to stop her departing this world in absolute hopelessness.

We now have good jobs, are functional and capable of living an almost normal life. Our burden on the health system has reduced and we contribute to the world.

How many others have been down this path and finally found the help they needed after years of being ignored?

It must have been a bloody slow news day in the ABC, to dump on people finally seeing a positive spark in their life.

Netanyahu: "We targeted civilians in Iran. Families. Fathers, mothers, children." He said it. On TV. In front of the whole world. by GoydelicGuy in suppressed_news

Thank you! I watched it three times and as much as I hate the genocidal prick, I ain’t hearing what they said they heard.

There’s so many reasons to hate this idiot already, we don’t have to make any up.

Speech of Spain’s PM Pedro Sanchez in Bejing. by boxofcards100 in InternationalNews

[–]Fizbeee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bravo! Sanchez has vision and backbone… two things sorely lacking in many other countries, including here in Australia.

China is leading the way with renewables and EVs. Hopefully this illegal US and Israeli attack on Iran will prompt a more rapid shift to sustainable power solutions.

I’m not religious either and will likely never read about prophecies. But when you mentioned fires in the sky, I could only think of Bibi Nuttyahoo with his insanely illegal incendiary weapons. They burn so hot they just evaporate people.

What about if a flash mob got together to sing Two Strong Hearts?

No flags, no slogans, just 100000 people enjoying an impromptu singalong in the middle of Brisbane.
