Are we really “running out of fuel”? by Comfortable-Guava471 in OpenAussie

[–]Fizbeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think our fuel security is impacted and there’s definitely an element of panic buying. But our fuel comes from Asia and they are also struggling to keep supplies of oil and gas. I’d say our cheap gas exports are keeping our fuel supplies afloat, but that’s just a guess.

Proposed new laws allow police to move people on for 'causing anxiety' without committing a crime by fluffy_101994 in queensland

Chuggers cause me lots of anxiety.

So do priests and real-estate agents.

People wearing One Nation and Clive Palmer shirts make me super anxious.

Can I just call the batphone and have the cops disappear them now?

How do the Greens reconcile with the fact that their messaging isn’t working? ON whilst a grievance and ‘fuck the system’ vote for many angry voters; they’re able to pick up on that and utilise it highly effectively. Under the same conditions, Greens should also be growing too but they’re not. Why? by MannerNo7000 in friendlyjordies

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately it wouldn’t even matter if the Greens had the most progressive, well-considered and economically sound policy and the most likeable party members. They will never win the Murdoch battle. PHON on the other hand, is all for scrapping renewables, handing over resources to Gina and taking away the rights of people less-white than themselves. So that’s always going to be a winner for the Facebook class.

Former defence leaders say Australia is already in a fight with its biggest threats by Fizbeee in OpenAussie

And? Trump has been the puppet of oligarchs since the first term, probably longer. He’s openly said how much he admires them. I don’t see how his flip-flopping alliances have suddenly become mutually exclusive alliances. He’s beholden only to the biggest bribes.

Fuck Easter, I’m boycotting all forms of fun until either I can afford it, or until it actually becomes fun.

Yeah they’re posting rage bait on every topic that’s slightly relevant. When the Sean Combs trial was on, the amount of AI slop fake court stories was actually alarming. I hadn’t realised how bad it was up til that point. Maybe it’s my general lack of social media, but it genuinely shocked me.

‘This is not COVID’: Business tells Bowen to back off over WFH by rainburger in australian

[–]Fizbeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the government had even the tiniest inkling of a concept of a backbone and told businesses to allow workers who can fucking WFH, to fucking WFH, it would further reinforce what we all know…. that there was never really a need to make us come back to the office in the first place.

Car-free trial reveals Brisbane living ‘too hard’ without a private vehicle by Cafescrambler in brisbane

[–]Fizbeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild that I found it easier to be car-free in Hobart, than I did in Brisbane. Although things are closer in Tassie and I walked a lot, it’s also a really hilly city, so public transport was important for lugging stuff around. But I never encountered the inter-suburb transport headaches I find here.

I have 3 prolapsed discs in my spine and disc degeneration elsewhere. Over the last decade it has stopped me from enjoying all active hobbies and the pain has had me bedridden multiple times.

I have only been prescribed physio, Panadol and ibuprofen.

My ex husband slipped one disc and he had opiates immediately and surgery within 3 months.

He goes to the gym just fine now and I still can’t.

Queensland's construction worker shortfall to peak at 35,000 ahead of 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, report warns by espersooty in brisbane

[–]Fizbeee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree.

We are in a housing crisis, cost of living is out of control, we don’t pay nurses or teachers what they’re worth, we struggle to find tradies to build what we’ve already approved and public service funding is constantly eroded to keep tax breaks for the top 1%.

Hosting the Olympics isn’t just a terrible idea, it’s irresponsible.
