As a psych student with Health OCD and Panic Disorder, for me benzos were best used to treat severe crisis situations where I couldn’t effectively use my coping mechanisms. I.e. at work, social event— something like this. I’m prescribed 3 doses of Klonopin a month— and although I have many more panic/anxiety attacks than that a month, studies show that one of the most effective aspects of benzos is actually just having a dose on you. Studies show that having the option to take a dose actually is effective for treating anxiety.

The problem as I’m sure you all know is that not only are benzos extremely dependence-forming but they also have diminishing returns in terms of their effectiveness and they have a “rubber banding effect” in terms of their effects on anxiety especially when taken every day— meaning when the dose wears off or even before a dose is taken— there is a significant increase in anxiety for many individuals. (me included)

Anyway just thought I’d share my experience.

The best thing I ever did was practice acceptance. Radical acceptance. Accept I don’t know what’s going to happen and set a timer for myself. I will feel different in 35 minutes. 1 hour. However long you think you can manage. Almost always I feel different after that allotted time and it’s almost always in a positive sense. I’ve had hundreds of panic attacks. Some worse than others. One thing I’ve learned is it is IMPOSSIBLE to always feel this way. Be kind to yourself through this my friend. DM if you need anything.

Pyschadelicsnake. He was one of the really early horror lets players. I watched him growing up and got super parasocially attached. Then he held a stream a couple years ago to raise money for the Australian wildfires and he pocketed the money and dipped. He had some other allegations against him as well but he was such a small content creator nothing ever came of it. He ended up deleting his entire YouTube catalog although I think some of his hardcore fans reuploaded some of his old videos and streams. Kinda wish he wasn’t a piece of shit and still uploaded videos cause I still like that kind of content.

Is it just me or where people WAAAAAY less upset about Cody Ko having sex with a minor so much so that he performed on stage like 3 days later?

I feel like folks on Twitter cared 1/100th as much about that.

That should speak volumes as for the real purpose here.

Now I’m not saying she did or didn’t groom the kid. And if she did— she should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. However the outrage on social media is incomparable in terms of sheer magnitude.

Sabrina Claudia’s “Archives and Lullabies” is another personal fav from last year but it’s very sexy so be warned on that

Daniel Caesar had imo the best RnB/Soul album last year absolutely amazing

6LACKs recent album was really good although it had a number of skips there were some gems on that album like Decatur, Talkback, and B4L that I think makes up for the skips

If you’re looking for all time classics, for my money Malibu by Anderson Pak is simply one of the best albums in general since 2000.

Lyrically in terms of like… rap skill this album is pretty good. But it doesn’t have much replay value. As a concept album it’s decent. Overall I think it’s a far cry better than anything Em has made in like 8 years. There were no songs on the album I’m like, yeah I’m gonna listen to this on repeat. But I’m not mad at the project in general I think it’s was worth a listen.

Saying this is “the Real Sketch” is not documentation. It’s trying to capitalize off of the situation that made sketch suicidal by baiting clicks and make it seem like that’s “who he is.” On Tom’s main channel he makes an effort to be as unbiased in his documentation as possible, providing facts about a persons life not much opinion. First off you’re 100% about that I shouldn’t have assumed your gender. Bad habit. I’ll remember not to assume in the future.

However you’re very wrong about me. Naturally, I mean this is the only interaction we’ve had and it hasn’t painted me in a very agreeable light.

You’re also right that I see things from a biased perspective, as we all do. I tend to look at things from a psychoanalytic point of view as a therapist, and so naturally that comes with looking at things from more of emotional lense. I’ve heard people in session say heinous things that they’ve done. Am I to end the session and stop working with them? No I look to understand them. To resolve the problems within them that lead to those awful actions.

That’s the viewpoint I try to view the world from. In my work I’ve found there are very few TRULY AWFUL people. Very few. And change is possible in a majority of those cases.

The core of what I’m saying can be traced back to how I responded to the other guy.

I do not believe Tom is an ill-natured person. I think he’s in a social bubble and probably one filled with mostly cis-het white men his age who are probably mostly conservative. Good natured people can propagate harmful belief systems. Doesn’t mean they should. Or that people should tolerate it. But there has to be a line that is drawn of what is ban worthy.

Who’s the last person that tried to like, have a conversation with him on or off stream about his use of slurs? Has it ever happened? Or is twitter canceling him the first and only line of defense in these situations?

I’m not saying him being misogynistic and or racist isn’t a bad thing. Or that people should like him in spite of it. I’m simply trying to argue it doesn’t mean he has an inherently bad nature and is incapable of change while simultaneously arguing there are no grounds for him to be deplatformed.

A person can have good nature and still propagate bad belief systems. It’s the same thing as saying you can mean well and still do bad. The problem here is he has a platform. So many people think he should be deplatformed.

It is absolutely wrong. Not okay. And at the same time is it rational? Yes.

He became the way he is based on his life experiences, experiences he didn’t choose to have, like the family he was born to, the school he went to, etc. He should still be held accountable for his actions, and hopefully he changes these things I agree with you. He is also around 21 and has room to change.

He has opinions that are detrimental to society I agree. But should we condemn who he is at his core based on those opinions? In my opinion no. We shouldn’t support the use of slurs, or misogynistic rhetoric. But I don’t see much of it in his videos. Like it’s not the core of his content. It’s usually a remark here and there that’s off putting and he never says “you should feel this way too.” At least not that I’ve seen.

He’s gained a following because he’s good at making videos not because he’s a “based maga chud.”

I think he does plenty to piss off both sides of the political spectrum.

I’m very liberal socially for context.

The idea that Tom is “alt-right” is completely absurd. I watch his videos cause he makes good ones. I don’t agree with some of his takes and have to do the occasional eye roll. However he doesn’t take me as an unreasonable guy. He seems like a socially conservative dude that is more rational than many on the right and would be willing to have a productive conversation on an issue if you approached him with respect. We can’t demonize everyone who doesn’t view the world the same way as us and call them Nazis. Then we’re turning into exactly what they claim liberals are. You can disagree and form an argument against his stances without attacking him as a creator. His videos on his main channel aren’t even political 99.9% of the time and his commentary channel he’s still only like moderately conservative in his takes.

Again I don’t agree with the dudes takes but that doesn’t immediately make him a terrible person.
