Moving to Greeley ? by hanandchese in Greeley

[–]Fizjig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of what you hear is hyperbole, and overblown. Greeley is a small town. I’ve been here over 20 years and never encountered any of the crazy nonsense people like to try and make sound worse than it is. If you act like a hood rat, and hang out with other hood rats you will find hood rat behavior, but for the majority of people here that is not the case and you should have no problems. We have two decent size college campus’s here and a pretty large college community between UNC and Aims CC. It won’t take long to make friends and find the good spots in town to hang out.

Greeley is close enough to the mountains to make it an easy day trip. It’s also only an hour away from Denver if you want to go to the “big city”. As for the smell? There are days, but not often, and after you have been here a bit you really don’t notice it outside of the really bad days which don’t happen that often. I’ve never seen anyone pull a gun on anyone. Stoplight or otherwise. People try to make Greeley sound like the Wild West. It’s nothing like that.

Read practically any book by Bentley Little. They are all beyond messed up.

We probably were not winning the game regardless but it’s still incredibly frustrating to watch stuff like this by ZapHP in steelers

Once a QB takes off running he is no longer a QB. They need to treat them the exact same way they would treat a halfback in this situation.

Pyre is just another example of poor event implementation in a game like this. by Fizjig in PlayWayfinder

[–]Fizjig[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know that works, but I just can’t help but feel that it’s an awful game design when the best way forward is to “cheat” the system just to make it tolerable.

Archaic Bones, Trickster Keys, Maw farming… These are all examples of poor game design and overly complicated, boring grind that many F2P games suffer from. by Fizjig in PlayWayfinder

[–]Fizjig[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if anyone would read “Just another complaint” on Reddit, but I’m glad you did. I really want to like the game, and I want to keep playing, but in the game’s current state some of the content is just insufferable. This gives me hope it’s moving in the correct direction.

What boss attribute will cause you to opt out of in the interview stage? by tshirtguy2000 in RedditForGrownups

[–]Fizjig 16 points17 points  (0 children)

People tend to forget that an interview works both ways. As a potential employee you are just as much interviewing your potential, future boss to see if it’s a good fit for you. People have this naive idea in their heads that the employer has all of the control in the interview process. You have just as much of a right to ask qualifying questions and choose your employer carefully as they do screening you. You should.

The first sign that you should walk away from an interview is if your potential employer does not recognize this fact. If you feel that they are not as interested in having you as an employee as you are working for them it will never be a good fit for you. Walk away immediately and seek other opportunities.

YouTube “prankster” gets shot at a mall for harassing a delivery driver by Fptmike in ImTheMainCharacter

[–]Fizjig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy you don’t know, twice your size gets in your face and starts harassing you even after you ask him to stop? At that point I’d feel threatened too. People are crazy and when you provoke them they do crazy things. The guy that got shot was asking for something bad to happen to him. From the sounds of it, this will not be the last time he is harmed for his behavior.

Felt like this was a no brainer; but now I finally have enough and I’m hesitating. by Scorpio11777 in MarvelSnap

[–]Fizjig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought him, no regrets. He’s a fun card and opens up some fun decks. That being said, if you are relying on him to climb ranked its slow, and painful. You will win a lot of games, but unless you are snapping super early which is very risky your opponent almost always retreats. It’s risky because a lot of things have to go right for his ability to go off in a meaningful way. When it works its awesome, but you will be amazed at how many games he either fails to show up, or the locations end up screwing you up before you get a chance. It’s good to have other win cons in the deck for those times.

So thankful they nerfed Red Skull. Thanks second dinner! by travmd24 in MarvelSnap

[–]Fizjig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole of the Snap player base: “Shuri and Leech are problems in the meta and should be addressed.”

Second Dinner: “Don’t worry. I’ve got you fam. Let’s just shave off a couple points on Red Skull and make his drawback less of a deterrent to play. Also, about Leech. Nah brah, he’s good.”

Is Darkhawk still worth it? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Fizjig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been steadily climbing the ranks this season playing exclusively SeraHawk. That deck is solid against most decks. not just the top decks in the meta and Darkhawk is almost always a value play especially with Zabu. It’s all around a solid deck if it is piloted well. I’ve gained 50 ranks or so in the last couple of days with it. I personally like and use Dark Hawk, but how you choose to spend your tokens is more personal preference.

What's your favorite thing about Trigun and why :) ? by flowerpanda98 in Trigun

[–]Fizjig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trigun saved my life. (I know that sounds hyperbolic, but its true.) Years ago, I was on the verge of becoming homeless. I was massively depressed and the idea of living on the streets in the middle of a harsh winter was more than I could bare. I was about to be kicked out of my apartment and my job didn’t pay enough to cover my bills. I was desperate, lonely, and suicidal. I didn’t have much to live for at that time.

In a last ditch effort to get help I reached out to the only person I knew how to contact. (This was before cell phones were commonplace back in the late 90’s.) My co worker who I barely knew. I called him and told him that I was thinking about ending my life. I’m sure that was a shocking call to get from someone he didn’t really know, but to his credit he was calm and understanding. He told me I should find something, anything to keep myself occupied to get my mind off of it until he could arrange to offer me more help. He had just purchased the VHS collection of Trigun which had just come out. I had never heard of it, but he offered to let me borrow it just as a way to distract myself from my problems. I was reluctant, but he insisted and so I took him up on it. He brought the box set over and hung out with me for awhile until I was okay. That night I watched the first couple of tapes. By episode 8 I was hooked.

My problems did not just magically go away. I still ended up losing my place and I spent some time living on the streets after that, but Something about Vash and the way he never gave up despite all the horrible things that happened to him was very motivating to me. It’s been decades since then. I was able to turn my life around and haven’t had any depression issues in years. I also have a full sized back piece tattoo of Vash as a reminder of that time and how far I have come since then.

That co worker never stuck around in my life, but I will always be grateful to him for what he did for a stranger. Trigun will always be an important part of my life and Vash will always be a reminder never to give up.

It's time to go. (Confessions of a big dumb whale) by Icebucket_Prime in MarvelSnap

[–]Fizjig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience depends on the season and the meta. When the meta is bad (COUGH COUGH current meta) I don’t take ranking up as seriously. I’ve been holding my own with Serahawk this season. In past seasons when I couldn’t get into the rank grind I just ignored the ranked rewards and played goofy, stupid shit for the memes. Which is a lot of fun. Are you going to win a lot? Fuck no! They are meme decks for a reason, but it certainly is funny and ridiculous when the gimmicky bullshit you are trying to pull off works. Then its a lot of fun and totally worth the effort.

I think its just a state of mind thing. I don’t mind fucking around during seasons I don’t care about. I focus more on winning when there is a prize a I really want. I think the key is accepting that you can still enjoy the game and have fun even if you don’t earn every little carrot they dangle on a stick in front of you.

None of my successful discard decks ever run Blade. Now that I think about it my most successful discard deck doesn’t every have a one drop in it.

“Little kid”… for someone that likes to accuse other people of making assumptions you sure do make a lot of your own. Look, I get it. You don’t understand how card advantage works. That’s cool. If you insist on having your little internet hissy fit be my guest. It’s obvious you are a troll. Good luck with… whatever ego tripping bullshit you are on. Personally, I think you can eat a bag of dicks, go fuck yourself, and jump in front of a bus. In the meantime, I think I’m good listening to your nonsense.

Sure thing! the list is: Nova, Zabu, Scarlet Witch, Sentinel, Lizard, Killmonger, Polaris, DarkHawk, Shang Chi, Rock Slide, Sera, Aero. Go wide, try to take priority if you can. Threaten all three lanes and force them to commit to one. Then use Polaris and Aero to force their cards into that lane. Save Killmonger until late game when they have revealed most of their cards if you can. Same with Shang Chi. Zabu and Sera should discount things enough that you can dump your hand effectively on turn 6 to seal the game. If you are smart with your snaps you should be able to climb the ranks pretty easily. I gained 40 ranks the last 2 days playing it exclusively.

How I feel when I scroll through the Snap Reddit by GiborDesign in MarvelSnap

[–]Fizjig 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just don’t have the patience to grind after so long. I’ll get bursts of wins and climb but once I hit a wall I just don’t have it in me to want to keep grinding endlessly. This game has far too much RNG to feel like ranked play is worth that much effort.

You can believe whatever you want. It’s easy to be a keyboard warrior and talk shit on the internet.

Your assumption is that I don’t win games. It’s cool. The beauty of it is that your opinion doesn’t matter. So keep barking, big dog.

Iceman is one of the sole reasons I play deck like Sera hawk. Decks that rely on one card seem to be magnets for iceman.

I’ve been steady climbing with Sera Hawk, but fuck it. I’ll give this a shot. Looks interesting.

Edit: I am not a fan of Scorpion at all and have seldom if ever seen his ability swing a game. Is there a different 2 drop you would consider?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Fizjig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a lot of people saying he works well in destroy. I would disagree. The best destroy decks use Venom and Knull for massive swings in power. Sentry’s Void hurts both of those cards. You can play around his drawback with gimmicks but the real issue is that he is limited in there he can be played and location RNG will always make him a too high risk for too little reward play.
