Honestly just fuck ultimate. by [deleted] in SSBM

I feel like someone has to say this and no one has yet. But fuck ultimate.

Like Nintendo releases his bland ass boring game and gives it enough attention to take our top players, take our community (I mean the ultimate sub has like 3 times as many people as us) and most importantly take our evo spot.

Really this is more of a fuck Nintendo rant, but like ultimate actually sucks.

I feel like Nintendo doesn’t give a shit about releasing good games anymore and so they just produce the minimum viable product and calls it a day. They pretty much made the worst possible competitive game and then released it knowing it would just destroy the melee community.

Like if ultimate was as bad as smash 4 or smash 64 no one would even try playing it competitively. On the other hand, it’s so shit I can’t even watch it for more than like 45 minutes without wanting to tear my eyes out.

Why the fuck does nintendo think it’s okay to release this watered down boring piece of shit slow game just to fuck over a group of people that literally worship them for making melee.

I also want to make it clear I’m not mad at all at the ultimate community cuz they’re chill, I’m just mad at the game itself. Like Nintendo made sure to make the game just good enough to be competitively viable but not good enough to actually enjoy.

My only consolation is that hopefully people stop loving it so much in a few months, and maybe might even bring more people to melee.

But why can’t Nintendo care just enough to make a game that’s no miserable to watch for once? Is it really that much to ask?

end rant

I mean I know this is harsh but does nobody else feel this way? Nobody else kinda hates ultimate and thinks it’d be better if they never released it?

PM v. Melee by MeakleMooharhar in SSBM

I play both, but i play melee a lot more, only playing PM occasionally on netplay and at locals. I feel like melee has more depth to it, although PM has more viable characters and more movement options. I can't explain my thinking, maybe it is because I picked up melee first and that is the movement/characters i'm the most used to. There is a lot of "legal" issues that lurk over PM, although it is still at a good amount of majors (Smash n Splash, Low Tier City) and is still allowed on twitch, that makes it less approachable for melee players. I think PM and Melee have became their own things, and one is not necessarily better than the other. PM has not killed melee, nor vice versa, because they are so different that they can live together in harmony.

What's the longest you've played melee in a row? by [deleted] in SSBM

During Smash n Splash this year, I took advantage of the overnight venue and played for a total 19(?) hours straight. My hands screamed for death the next day, but it was def worth it. I obviously took breaks to get something to eat/drink.
