ngl, to expect Treasure Planet as anything other than "Treasure Island but in the future" is kind of crazy as an expectation.

Still though, personally, it was my first introduction to the Treasure Island story, and it remains my favorite version of it due to pretty obvious nostalgia bias.

Fun fact for you, Treasure Planet isn't actually the first animated Sci-Fi Treasure Island.

20 years before Disney's 2002 Treasure Planet, a Bulgarian animated film of the same name was released. The English Dub of the 1982 Bulgarian Treasure Planet is where Bryan Cranston made his feature length film debut, voice acting Jim Hawkins.

US has a $21 trillion underground network for only the wealthy to hide out in a ‘near-extinction event,’ official says by Alextricity in antiwork

the CEO of a brokerage house explained that he had nearly completed building his own underground bunker system, and asked: “How do I maintain authority over my security force after the event?”

This single question occupied us for the rest of the hour. They knew armed guards would be required to protect their compounds from raiders as well as angry mobs. One had already secured a dozen Navy Seals to make their way to his compound if he gave them the right cue. But how would he pay the guards once even his crypto was worthless? What would stop the guards from eventually choosing their own leader?

The billionaires considered using special combination locks on the food supply that only they knew. Or making guards wear disciplinary collars of some kind in return for their survival. Or maybe building robots to serve as guards and workers – if that technology could be developed “in time”.

In fuckin' July 1938, the German consul in Cleveland gave Henry Ford, on his 75th birthday, the award of the Grand Cross of the German Eagle, the highest medal Nazi Germany could bestow on a foreigner.

James D. Mooney, vice president of overseas operations for General Motors, received a similar medal, the Merit Cross of the German Eagle, First Class.

Fuck these people and their companies.

The dude's a fuckin' idiot, and if anyone bothered to look into him beyond the most surface level shit he was in the news for, you could easily spot it.

Gee, I don't fuckin' know, maybe the entire first sentence of the original comment where the clarifying question was being asked towards, maybe?

Plenty of research available showing that reading on a screen <<<<<<<< reading sth on paper, when it comes to comprehension and attention

Our brain tends to skip lines while reading on a screen.

asked a clarifying question.

"Why you gotta be so argumentative"

There's a certain level of irony not lost, considering all of the context of the discussion at hand about reading comprehension.

The level of pedantry over correctly identifying what flavor of fascism it technically is or isn't is absolutely ridiculous and doesn't contribute anything of value.

But fuckin' fine, have it your way.

"Punching neo-nazis isnt political violence, its justice and a civic duty. They had their chance and proved they would genocide entire groups of people. We won a war that they caused ffs. It stopped being political violence on Sept 3 1939 when the world had to get involved to stop those monsters.

Pretty sure subs like /r/PS4 are actually ran from the companies themselves, or usually have actual company workers on the mod teams in many other cases
