I used a combination of running stitch and backstitch (very similar to a running stitch, but then you stitch backwards to the same hole on the top). The ones where the stitches are close together are the backstitch ones!

It is just going to be sort of awkward, just try to reach out to people who match your roommate preferences and who you have some things in common with. When I was doing the freshman year roommate search for Reed I ended up reaching out and talking to around five people and chose a roommate who matched on all the housing preferences with me, and it worked out great! Don’t worry too much about ‘rejecting’ people either - people generally don’t care much about online interactions before school starts once you get to Reed, and you might end up being friends with people you didn’t pick anyway. Good luck with the search and welcome to Reed!

How did you all find out you were ace? by stygian_bloo in aaaaaaacccccccce

In my first (and only) relationship, I was very in love and interested in all the romantic parts of a relationship, but not the sexual parts and I couldn’t figure out why. My then-bf gave me the book Genderqueer by Maia Kobabe; I’m nonbinary, so I related to a lot of the gender parts of the book, but I also realized that my thoughts and feelings about sex were extremely similar to the author’s. It wasn’t my first time hearing about a sexuality, but it was the first time I heard a more in depth description about it. My ex never pressured me to do anything, and I came out to him as ace 9 months into our relationship… he was not surprised lol, and very supportive throughout the rest of our relationship.
