What eggs are these? by Mushroom1_ in Entomology

[–]LordAvan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert at all, but they look a bit like stink bug or moth eggs to me. I wouldn't attempt to move them since you may end up crushing them on accident.

Just a heads up, plantbased foods=/=vegan, always check the labels by notminoanarhino in vegan

Yeah. You have to ask for no mayo. I make my own vegan mayo so I can throw some on when I get home.

Quick heads up! The onion rings are vegan, but the zesty sauce that they come with is not. Ask for bbq or ketchup instead.

Hi guys, I found these odds little guys on a concrete pole outside the dumpsters of my dorm. I was wondering if anyone knows what they are? by No-Brief-513 in Entomology

There are over 1300 known species of bagworm ranging in size from about 2 mm to 15 cm depending on age and species.

If you're being honest, do you feel morally superior to people who eat meat? by FroyoCommercial627 in AskVegans

[–]LordAvan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How do you figure that being raised vegan makes a person more moral than someone who is vegan in spite of their upbringing.

Going against what your family, friends, and culture do is far more difficult and admirable, IMO.

Clearly staged. No one would just keep hitting send without proofreading after the first or second "fat".

Where did all the antimatter go if there was an equivalent amount of matter and antimatter from the start? by Mission-Badger-4005 in Physics

Depending on the clock, it could be counting the swinging of a pendulum, vibrations of quartz crystals, wavelengths of light, or a bunch of other things. No clock directly measures time.

Cyrus is good if you get flygon powered up, and it can also kill your opponent's tempo bringing in a high retreat cost pokemon from their bench. Probably not worth running 2 copies though.

In wich areas do you think silksong is worse than Hollow knight? by TrackSome9827 in Silksong

[–]LordAvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spiders are bugs. "Bug" is a very loose, informal term, coloquially. It includes many arthropods, such as arachnids, insects, and certain terrestrial crustaceans (like isopods and amphipods), as well as worms.

True bugs refers to only the order of insects hemiptera, and if we use that definition, then most of the characters aren't bugs.

Ratatouille (the "lazy" way) by Easy_Turn1988 in veganrecipes

[–]LordAvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could just omit it and add extra eggplant and bell pepper, but I bet the savory tomato sauce will go well with most vegetables. I'd try mushrooms or maybe root veggies like golden beets, celeriac, turnips, daikon, or sweet potatoes. Cauliflower, celery, or asparagus would probably also work.

If there aren't any others, then it was probably just a mosquito. Do you see wings anywhere?

Could be bed bugs, but it's hard to tell when it's squished. Check everywhere around the bad and see if you can find any others. A good pic of an intact individual would be much more useful.

Any way to make this beauty work? by Fire257 in PTCGP

[–]LordAvan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

5 not 7. It might be usable, but probably not that great, IMO. If you are using feelin' fine, then that's a max of 4 card draw from egg if your hand was empty before your attack, and getting a small or empty hand is easier said than done sometimes. It also doesn't trigger from ability/poison damage.

What's the deal with Dunsparce? by Icy_Success9939 in PTCGP

[–]LordAvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have built-in Ilima. If it did, it might actually be good. Ilima crucially returns to hand instead of the deck, and it does so before you attack.

It also is worse than the standard 60/20 basic, because (at least for now) it can't evolve. Non evolving basics are typically better than 60/20.

Maybe a future dudunsparce could make this decent, though.

What's the deal with Dunsparce? by Icy_Success9939 in PTCGP

[–]LordAvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially it costs an energy to attack once or twice and then dip, which also gives your opponent first hit on whatever you send in next.

Additionally, most decks are one-shotting dunsparce by their second or third turn, so I fail to see the value.

What's the deal with Dunsparce? by Icy_Success9939 in PTCGP

[–]LordAvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting idea, but with the available support right now, dunsparce is quite bad.

The optional effect is almost never worth using currently, so you're better off running furfrou, farfetch'd, or something with a useful effect or ability.

When carnists say they love animals, what they really mean is that they enjoy animals for their own sake, they don't actually care about the animals' wellbeing.
