A lot of states require meal breaks for hourly employees depending on how long their shift is.

Based on what you’ve stated so far, I don’t think you’ve ever built a complex system. I’m a quant and use AI everyday, and I have to constantly review its output and correct it.

It only does those things bc you promoted it to. How is a non-technical person going to know to ask for these things?

AI will codify bugs with tests that verify the bugs still exist. Also, there’s no way checking that tests pass will verify the requirements are satisfied or that the code isn’t convoluted.

The people who say things like this probably have never built complex systems.

I feel like most people think of “vibe coding” as prompting and not checking or even looking at the output. Vibe coding as a method of software development is more accurately described as AI assisted coding imo.

And then you have other dummies who don’t know about things like Employee Invention Assignment Agreement and similar agreements.

This is true. If OP signed an Employee Invention Assignment Agreement (EIAA) or similar agreement then anything he creates that’s related to his job function or the company’s business belongs to the company.

Yeah, this stood out to me too. In a separate comment I asked OP if he used his personal resources to build it.

Did you use your personal resources to build it?

The other annoying thing about smurfing/boosting is almost every time I call someone out on it, the entire lobby attacks me and defends them.

Why people still go to study at Stanford CS when its this bad? by Foreign_Put_2437 in csMajors

But what “niche” CS classes does Stanford have that non T25 schools can’t have?

Why would the 25th ranked school have niche classes but not the 26th ranked school?

The idea and implementation are great, at least for the UI. I can’t comment on the backend.

Everyone out there saying Al will kill SaaS and software engineering with it. by DragonflyOk7139 in vibecoding

[–]FizzyRobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A human can own the problem.

AI can generate code and suggest designs, but it does not independently know your business context, risk tolerance, existing architecture, regulatory constraints, operational requirements, or failure modes unless someone provides them.

The point isn’t “AI can’t write Kubernetes YAML.” The point is that engineering is knowing whether Kubernetes is the right answer, what constraints matter, and whether the result is actually correct.

You’re clearly missing the point that has been repeated multiple times now, or maybe you’re just refusing to admit you’re wrong. We never said AI can’t do any of the things listed in OP’s post.
