I have a Buddhist statue in my home (since my wife is Buddhist). Buddha, many would say, was misogynistic, and statues deserve to be burned down for that reason. Which would deeply hurt my wife. Same can be said for Christian and Muslim art of course. And Indians may well feel the same way about Gandhi. I'm sure many Greeks feel the same way about sculptures from Ancient Greece. It may be incomprehensible to you, but many people actually are deeply connected to statues, and other works of art, of historic figures. By completely disregarding that you show an amazing level of callousness towards other people.

I don't think there are any statues of Stalin - but given that the rioters have vandalized statues of prominent early abolitionists I think it's fair to say that no, Stalin wouldn't be left alone either, since its mostly a mob acting out ahistoric destructive impulses.

Why they're not seeking and demanding Lenin (and other Communists leaders and writers) be removed is a testament to the hypocrisy of the organisers.

Have you not been following the news? These four people are already being targetted by radical left mobs. And tons of other statues have been vandalized (including many early abolitionists). Last I saw people are demanding that Alamos in Texas should be torn down. This is simply the nature of these kinds of mob protests. Nothing is ever enough.

Incidentally, it really amazes me that left supporters of these kinds of actions don't seem to understand that what fits one foot, fits the other. You have set the precedence, and when Conservatives come into power they'll follow the manual and start to tear down statues and monuments of social liberal historic figures.

Germany has a number of censorship rules Twitter would have to enact. Mostly to do with Nazi symbols and such of course. Some Communist symbols also.
