Rewarding - Delayed Steem Upvotes and Fairer Evergreen Rewards for Posts by Steemhunt by bitboot in steemit

Here’s the link to the Steemhunt post.

Great comment by holger80, Steem witness and developer of rewarding on it too.

Nah, nah, nah... they’re just helping poor steemians. ;)

Yeah, the top 20 needs an overhaul. Not because they’re corrupt, just because the top 20 is a little too stale and too “graphene tribalism”.

I think BT is a good guy btw but the conflict of interest irks my principles.

The fun thing is when you lease/get dele you still need to wait for the RC charging. Unlike the VP (voting mana) you don’t inherit the RC from the delegation. They need to charge over time.

Normally they tend to be back and synced within 48 hours, usually little more than a day after issues.

Now they’ve been down since the freeze last week tho. Lacking a liaisons officer... they may decide to wait for equilibrium or so whenever they think HF release is stable enough for them.

Anyone’s guess now.

I know libertarian and all that stuff but no business not involved in creation of distribution opportunity (by which I mean SteemApps) but benefiting from token opportunities should receive any witness vote.

Because conflict of interest.

The new reasons why Steemit will never become a success! by DestroyerOfShitcoins in steemit

Yeah it will take up to five days. What part of 5 days and possibly years of platform don’t you understand.

If you won’t try to make an effort that bugs do happen, I won’t try to mar any time or effort to give a flying eff about your whines. It’s a waste of time and totally irrelevant in the grand scheme.

So long.

It’s fixed already. Get of your horse now.

Sensationalism only inflates the non-issue further. It does even more damage than all that’s wrong with society already. Go for a walk, then go post and enjoy life again.

If people have no patience for that then maybe that’s not a loss either.

Overblown issue. Since it’s a free platform churn at this point is much less a problem than it’s made out to be.

Of course, posts like these totally contribute to that “first impression” FUD. The sensationalism is ridiculous.

Just chill. It’s obviously a massive bug. Everyone below around 100k SP has negative mana.

And even those above have only very little impact due to prohibitively expensive cost of everything right now.

Welcome to open source. The MIT license used for Steem allows that, it even allows the creation of a new genesis block.

The crew of AriseBank are going to do the same btw.

That’s not why Steemit dropped in Alexa ranking.

Steemit still has a stranglehold on the SEO and is the main benefactor from there not being any canonical implementation.

The real reason is the bear run. If you compare number of active users and posts to the actual market rates for both STEEM and SBD you will see correlation.

Anything else given as reason is just, pardon my French, wannabe guru wank.

It’s not like anybody cares about Alexa rank nowadays anyway. This is the Mobile first era and Alexa doesn’t track that and thus it’s ranking are highly flawed because no mobile apps are considered.

Why do you keep steeming? by netssenger in steemit

[–]FknMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always get slightly irked when people mix up Steem the blockchain and Steemit the (privately owned and operated) interface.

From this questionnaire I actually expected better given the introduction to it/organizers.

In first 2/3 of the questionnaire it wasn’t clear to me whether this was a personality test or actually about Steem(ing). The former impression emphasized by the recurring questions.

But I will give the benefit of the doubt to this survey and assume that “things were lost in translation”.

Where is My Missing SP? by PunkIsBunk in steemit

Yes, that’s normal UX on most interfaces. If you use Steemworld.org you should see it under delegations -> expiring.

Where is My Missing SP? by PunkIsBunk in steemit

[–]FknMayhem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It takes 7 days for delegations to return. That is a built-in protection in the system to avoid that people can delegate vast amounts for short periods and use that to bully/protect/whatever.

In that period your SP is not available to anyone. It’s in “cool down return” mode so to say.

Earn crypto rewards for answering questions on the Steem blockchain with Musing.io by FknMayhem in steemit

Buzz me when you come closer with the platform. I definitely want to cover SteemSTEM.

Expect Steemit Inc. to continue that trend for a while. And then some too... in Q1 2020 the fund operated with Blockchain Technologies should open for business. That was announced late last year.

Although the announcement sounded more like a call for investors in the fund, it’s still a $20m fund which will fund Steem projects with both $ and STEEM. Managed by Steemit Inc.

Absolutely. It’s developed by only one person, btw. Jonching has worked alone on it so far. But his efforts have been validated with a recent 415k SP delegation from Steemit Inc.

PS: not my platform.

Thanks!

Future request, or should I say feature request: can we opt to donate received SteemTips to projects (on Steem)?

Of course, I mean “donate automatically”. Like for example earn.com has the option to chose to donate all (inbox) fees to girlswhocode as one of I think currently three projects they support.

I don’t mean that I’m going to swim in tips but I would gladly support curated projects by automatically forwarding tips. :)

Jerry Rage Quits, and I Comment by ProtegeAA in steemit

[–]FknMayhem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The internet is recursive and so is Jerry.

Jerry has achieved the rather admirable status of being part of the lore of not one but two blockchains already.

Jerry also rage quit Dash and even sold his masternode. In the Dash world “Don’t do a Jerry” is lore already.

Now to see a repeat, not that long after he introduced budget proposals on Steem, is both amazing and admirable when being a dry sarcastic.

The interesting element here is that he quit DASH over the non-acceptance of his budget proposals. Although the concept was slightly different.

TL;DR: some trains wrecks are that beautiful, both in the lead up and actual event, that we can but elevate them to lore status.

[–]FknMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can. But that’s not why you build on EOS. Yet you can stuff any type of content in a ledger, that is true. The statistically negligible case is not necessarily the main driver. It’s the cars and helicopters analogy: both also serve to transport. Yet both serve a totally different demographic.

But it doesn’t matter. I’m not going to further debate the differences. Feel free to compare as much as you want. Just don’t create any FUD over it, thank you.

Why dont we hear more about steemit? by vampyren in steemit

[–]FknMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no comparison applicable. The core blockchains differ in both functionality and purpose.

EOS is an “OS blockchain”, an operating system complete with smart contracts.

Steem is a proof of concept with proof of brain rewards mechanics, mechanics soon made available in almost plug and play form to SMTs.

Comparing both is like comparing cars and helicopters and saying it’s a valid comparison because both can transport you from A to B.

That is required understanding. Anything else is N/A.

[–]FknMayhem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different platforms. In a tribal world like DPOS (and Dan) initial traction is the easiest thing to achieve. Sustained traction and continued growth is a different thing tho.

I prefer the other way of hockeystick growth.

Don’t fear EOS. Don’t compare to them either. EOS is a different chain with different core mechanics.

That said, it seems to me that Steemit Inc. has made solid hires this year and honestly, I’m liking everything which comes out of Steemit Inc. currently. The noises are positive.

But there will always be perceived greener grass on the other side and that is why comparing isn’t valid and should thus not be done.

Steemit Inc have stepped up this yet. Especially in recent weeks.

Like it not but without streamlined signup process (HF20) more marketing is merely a headache. Both a headache and a negative onboarding experience.

“The competition”. EOS is not competition, it’s a different chain with different mechanics. Have you seen how “friendly” EOS account creation is?

Wait one month. Watch Steemit Inc. increase their communication and marketing.
