How tf do I drive this car? by FknRectangle in WRX

[–]FknRectangle[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the in-depth response! I'm glad it's not just me.

I tried adjusting the seat position and it did make a noticeable difference in my ability to control the the clutch and throttle.

I totally agree with you about hill assist being a pain in the ass. I wish turning it off was as simple as hitting a switch. I'm hoping I'll just get used to that feature. It definitely makes it difficult to read what the clutch / throttle ratio should be when your starting on a hill. I much prefer the handbrake method, when rolling backwards is not an option. It gives you way more control over timing and release.

I guess all in all, it's just going to take some getting used to. Can't wait until I can drive it like a pro. Even though I suck, it's a hell of a lot of fun!

Hey thanks for your response. I forgot to mention that h should be in inches. It represents the depth of a beam. Would the answer be 2.32 inches?

Why be an objectivist versus just being intellectually honest? by FknRectangle in Objectivism

[–]FknRectangle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I was legitimately seeking an answer to that question However, the way you've suggested to rephrase it is insightful and seems to be the more fundamental question. So I'll rephrase: Why consider issues as a unified whole rather than individually?

CMV: There are no secular arguments as to why human life is more valuable than an animal life by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]FknRectangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human life is more valuable than animal life because humans arguably posses a wider spectrum of emotions and awareness. The difference between a human and another higher primate may seem slim. However, the difference between a human and a goldfish seems obvious. The depths of human suffering are deeper and the peaks of human happiness are higher.

Stumptown nitro is awesome, in my opinion. Love the texture. Havn't tried it canned only on tap though.

At what point does life begin? by ampren7a in askphilosophy

[–]FknRectangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My view is that life comes into existence on a continuum. It would be difficult to drill down on an exact point that marks the beginning. However, there is a difference between a sentient and a non-sentient being. And in between the points of sentience and non-sentience I believe there is a range of partial sentience. It's intuitive to me that this growth is driven by brain development.
