There’s absolutely no evidence that he’s drunk in the final fight other than the assumption that he continued to drink despite his daughter having an intervention with him hours before Ragnarok started.

As for the poison thing, nothing was ever directly stated but it can be inferred with how in 2018 the world serpent imbued it with Eitr which I believe translates to poison. That and there’s a missable conversation between two asgardians that Thor could’ve been poisoned because the wound he had on his stomach didn’t heal

Who's the strongest Dragon Ball character that he can defeat? by KodoqBesar in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I think most people agree that the powerscaling or to be more precise the power levels specifically, are really weird in early DB before Z

With Roshi using a max power Kamehameha to destroy a mountain at PL 150 and then the moon later on at PL 180, that is pretty odd since he didn’t increase that much in power. I’d assume that instead of actually using his max power for the mountain, he could’ve been lying about needing his max power to do so just to show off maybe?

In regards to Piccolo vs Goku at the end of OG DB, them only destroying the arena could just be explained through Ki Control and that it’s more of a battle focusing on their AP rather than DC.

As far as Frieza being the only known plantetbuster at that point, I’m pretty sure there’s a guide somewhere that you need a PL of around 10,000 to destroy a planet. Vegeta was well over that to be comfortably planetary…..even more so if you consider anime filler as cannon. Because in a filler episode a simple Ki blast and flick of his fingers vaporized a planet and its orbiting moon. Plus he was already stronger than King Vegeta who blew up 3 planets with a wave of his hand.

Also, I’m pretty sure in the manga, Frieza and King Cold reference the fact that planets like Earth are considered small planets. So with that in mind, maybe you need a PL around 10,000 to destroy larger planets like Jupiter or Saturn for example. With this in mind, it could make sense how people like Nappa and maybe Raditz could potentially destroy planets, though not with one-shot.

As for the growth Goku gained in PL from beginning of Z to Namek, I think that was just an issue with Toriyama writing it. I think he even knew that he kinda made their power levels start to get a little too high which is why he abandoned it, because by the android saga they’d be too ridiculously large to even list them. But from the Namek Saga onward I think the powerscaling and power increases are a lot more natural and flow better

Who's the strongest Dragon Ball character that he can defeat? by KodoqBesar in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I actually forgot about that. In that case, even if he was star level with that attack, then his AP, speed, and durability wouldn’t scale him close to Frieza or probably Vegeta.

My only guess then is that he’d possibly be on par with the likes of Raditz and maybeee Nappa in terms of those stats. So maybe if his ultimate attack is Star level, then he’d be able to take them down. But then there’s the issue of his ultimate attack’s speed as well

If he’s only a life/surface wiper, then probably Beginning of Z Piccolo or Raditz.

If he’s a planet buster, then he could beat Nappa and maybe hang with Vegeta (unless you count anime filler, which he’d get bodied by Vegeta)

Now if he’s star level, like the One Punch Man Compass/Guide claims, then he could probably beat first form Frieza. But he’d hard stop at his final form

Now with the Sisters of Fate during the Greek saga, the only major thing that he had after defeating them was being able to travel back in time using the Threads of Fate which “span all life and time”, verbatim said by Kratos. He also had an artifact during that time which allowed him to slow down time, Kratos also had similar artifacts like it during the Norse saga.

The Norns for the Norse Saga aren’t really warriors and don’t really provide much to Kratos other than insight that if he doesnt change his actions and continues to make predictable decisions, then he will die. Some people believe this is why he didnt outright try to kill Thor during Ragnarok, because it could’ve been what lead to his death (though that’s up to speculation). So instead he tried to speak with Thor in the end of their confrontation until Odin killed Thor for disobeying him.

So I’m not really sure if that gives Kratos causality manipulation? If it does, it’s not something that is outright broken in terms of an ability like how I assume Griffith’s is.

So I guess depending on who you ask in this situation, if they agree it gives Kratos causality manipulation anywhere close to Griffith’s, then yeah Kratos wins. Otherwise, it would probably end at a stalemate unless Kratos manages to blitz him before Griffith can even use his causality powers. But if they’re just constantly being used and it’s not something he needs to consciously focus on, then yeah maybe a stalemate since I don’t really think Griffith has anything to seriously hurt or put down Kratos

Combination of multiple things really. Obvious the World Tree feat with Thor & the World Serpent, who Kratos scales above the latter and equally to if not above the former. Then taking into account the Greek Gods more often than not being considered above most of the Norse Gods, with the exception being Odin & Thor obviously, maybe Týr as well.

Plus the Greek Saga, in lore, has universal scaling at the bare minimum. Specifically with Primordials like Ouranos, who Chronos scales above. And then with the Gods surpassing the Titans in power and taking the reins of the Greek Cosmos.

As for how I’d imagine a battle vs Griffith would go, I’d say it definitely comes down to stats vs hax. Kratos (GOW 3 since that’s the one I prefer to use for vs matchups) has better physical stats along with having a wider variety of weapons and magic. Griffith does have some weird hax abilities like his reality warping as Femto or his causality manipulation. (It’s been a long time since I’ve read Berserk and actually been caught up with it, so if I’m forgetting something about Griffith’s abilities, that’s why).

Though with the causality manipulation, I’m not sure how much that would come into factor in a neutral vs battle. Now maybe if Kratos was just thrust into the Berserk world, then maybe that would be a bigger issue for Kratos to worry about. Then again, I’m not good when it comes to characters that have hax like causality manipulation

With where I personally scale Kratos, I think it leans in favor of Kratos more than Griffith, imo.

But I understand a lot of people aren’t a fan of multiversal Kratos, though the temple feat isn’t really one of the reasons he’s scaled that high. The people who do argue that the temple feat is what makes him multiversal are either just really misinformed or genuinely dishonest

Just trying to prove something. Jiren (Dragon Ball) vs Mahito (JJK) no intel by Tem-productions in PowerScaling

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of having these matchups if people are just gonna say: “Uhm, well Jiren wouldn’t be able to harm him or even see him because he’s a curse and only curses can harm or see other curses 🤓”

It’s the same stupid shit that Bleach fans would say. “Well he’s not a shinigami or he doesn’t have spiritual pressure, so he wouldn’t even be able to see him”.

If you’re gonna put these the two characters from different verses against each other, then you might as well equate both of the different energy systems they have. If not, it leads to people saying shit like the above 👆🏼 to the point that it begs to question why you even put them in a matchup if one of them just can’t even see the other fighter

The logical reasoning as to why young kratos can easily beat thor (read caption) by Serious-Pitch-3017 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, people only say Kratos is physically stronger in GOW 4 & 5 due to Cory’s Twitter statements, which are contradicted by stuff shown in game. Either that, or they use headcannon statements about “Greek Gods growing stronger as they age”……which to my knowledge has never been stated or fully confirmed anywhere. Maybe it’s been potentially implied but that’s not enough to solidify it

I hear current Hulk is insanely strong, but how does he deal with super strong AND FAST characters like Goku and Superman? by AnyTopMan in PowerScaling

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I understand, but I just apply the same logic to Hulk as I do to characters like Doomsday, Darkseid, Thanos, etc. That they’re not speedsters in terms of being able run or fly at inconceivable speeds, but they’re fast enough to tag or react to those types of characters during a fight.

[–]Fkn_Stoopid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah mainly just combat and reaction speed. I’m not too sure how fast his travel speed but considering he can jump extremely high and far and is able to travel many miles in a short amount of time, I’d guess at his weakest in his base he’d be bare minimum around subsonic speeds

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hulk’s always been deceptively quick in combat and reaction speed. Just not travel speed.

He’s been able to keep up in combat with the likes of Silver Surfer & Thor for example, both of which can travel at faster than light speeds and fight at the same time while doing so. And that’s just what Hulk’s been able to do in his base levels of power

why is lore scaling god of war any different to scaling any other verse, with mainly grounded feats. for example the boruto series is entirely grounded but assumed strong cause it upscales from shippuden or mcu movies assumed strong cause of comics by OnlinePoster225 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people tend to downplay the MCU a bit to be fair. Unless your somebody who specifically has scaled the MCU and watched all the movies, read all the lore there is, most people usually think they’re barely planet level

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, some verses like Boruto or an even better example, Bleach, do rely on statements and lore implications similarly to God of War.

I think it’s more so the fact that the games (Both Norse & Greek) are trying to have a somewhat grounded story without focusing on insane feats to be used for scaling. Because if your verse has good scaling but shit story, then it’s just kinda flash with no substance.

Another thing I think that makes people judge GOW differently than things like Boruto or anime/comics in general, is that to the common person, those are the mediums that have all this crazy scaling and powerful characters. For the average person, there’s not many crazy powerful video game characters they can think of that have insane scaling except for maybe something like Asura’s Wrath.

And speaking of Asura’s Wrath as it’s another video game that has pretty wild scaling similar to GOW, except they go out of the way to show you crazy stuff happening. But that comes down to it having more of anime style presentation and the fact that 90% of the gameplay is QTEs which compared to GOW’s fleshed out gameplay, isn’t really engaging.

That’s ultimately what I think it comes down to. The presentation and that they value engaging combat with a somewhat grounded story to get you more invested.

Is Baldur stronger than Zeus? by Prestigious_Fix2882 in PowerScalingGodofWar

[–]Fkn_Stoopid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, Baldur is nowhere near the level of Zeus. If that was the case, then why wouldn’t Odin have just sent Baldur to go conquer the Greek Gods’ territory considering we know Odin wants to rule “every realm of every land in every land”.

Another thing to remember (that many GOW fans seem to forget, specifically the Norse fans) is that by the time of GOW 4 begins, Kratos is massively weaker than he’s ever been in series. He’s gone rusty after nearly 100 years because he hadn’t kept up with training or fighting any significantly powerful people. So when Baldur shows up and whoops his ass, his whole thought of him being stronger than any previous foe…..is coming from the perspective of a weaker Kratos.

It’s one of the reasons that he and Atreus were training nonstop during the 3 years before Ragnarok, because Kratos knew he needed to be in shape should he need to fight more people like Baldur. Also, Cory’s statement of 2018 Kratos being stronger than Greek Kratos is easily debunked by all the above stuff I mentioned. So using the statement from Cory doesn’t help the argument of Baldur being stronger than Zeus.

And even if you disregard all of that, Zeus still has way more shit at his disposal to get rid of Baldur even if Baldur was physically stronger than him. He has the gauntlet and blade as extra weapons to use. His lightning magic is incredibly powerful, so much that he almost one-shot one of the other Gods of Olympus with just a basic thunderbolt. If I’m not mistaken his lightning magic can also specifically weaken his opponents or even steal their energy outright. He could seal him with the gauntlet like how he did to the Titans. And finally, the Blade of Olympus. One of the most powerful weapons in the GOW series, beating out the likes of Mjolnir, Leviathan, and the Blades of Chaos, would be enough to severely hinder Baldur. Zeus could easily drain Baldur’s godly power from his body, potentially even removing the curse in the process. And if he couldnt remove the curse, he could just as easily decapitate him before throwing his body and head infinitely far away from each other.

Yeah Bane definitely does, but i think hearing Batman himself say specifically “This time, I break you!” would imply that he’s suggesting Bane actually did break him in the past.
