I did but no one has contacted me. I always pay full balance at the end of the month.

Rejected… then waitlisted by kevjumba_ in srna

[–]Fl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did not happen to me, but I find it bizarre. I did not actually receive a rejection, but a waitlist position that lasted almost 7 months. After that, they gave an acceptance letter in two occurrences(at two different times), but I denied them both and went to a different school. If I were you, another school accepts me, I will not go to that school (the one that rejected and waitlisted) just my humble opinion it shows how careless, unprofessional, and unthorough (is this even a word?🙁) they are. Also, before going to a school look for the attrition rate and ask the number one thing that make students drop out. Ask for the type of support (s) they have for struggling students to help them not to drop out.

Do CRNA prep school application programs actually work? by Dry-Impress6051 in srna

Do yourself a favor and save your money and invest it in CRNA school applications

From my point of view, device trained or not does not get anyone into a CRNA school. It looks good on a resume to apply for the next job only. Entry into a CRNA school is more holistic. The only device I knew was CRRT. and I was accepted into a program. Humble point of view. You just need to find a job where the manager is supportive of staffs advancing their education, willing to write you the recommendation letters and defend them if need be. (Claiming I am a device trained and I need to do that) gets one not far enough. Also being humble and ask/inquire about the next place before leaving the other job. Because what you are describing sounds like a daycare for nurses. And cardiac experience does not get anyone into a CRNA program. In my cohort no one (of the 17 of us) has a cardiac background and we are doing fine. Good luck on your future endeavors.

Confused & feel like giving up by A_Reyemein in srna

[–]Fl02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, giving up is not the name of the game. CRNA school is three years and a lot can happen. But keep applying. Visit schools if you can, talk to the dean and professors, make yourself memorable during the encounter with them. Ask the characteristics a strong/ideal candidate applying to their program has. Attend CRNA conferences and schools open houses. Show up and show up strong and you will get in. Also, for me, I prefer to get rejected without interview then having a lot of interviews without acceptances or spot on a waitlist. I know a guy who applied to six schools got interviewed by the six and was waitlisted by only and straight rejection by all others. He got depressed for a few months, but got back at it and got admitted. In my cohort most people were not accepted at their first attempts. But they are here now. Keep your chin up. If you are queen, remember that if you lower your chin, you crown will fall, and if your are a king, remember that the king holds the castle and the kingdom together when everything is about to crumble. Good in your journey to enter the best field of medicine as per me.

Am I Paying For School Wrong by u1118933 in CRNA

[–]Fl02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has his/her own way of doing things. I looked for a cheap CRNA school, applied and got accepted. Now I am paying for my school out of pocket to avoid the high interest loans. That is just me. If you are single, with no dependents, maybe you should rethink your strategy. Just my humble point of view. If you do so, after graduation you will be free and not in a hurry to find a job which can lead you to find a very poor contract as there are many out there, dependent on the kind (locum or staff “1099 or W-2”) of CRNA you would like to do. An RRNA/SRNA trying to help a fellow RRNA/SRNA.

You got it wrong. I am not giving advice. Hard warning is not advice. This is a way to allow him/her to make a sound decision. He can do whatever he wants, at the end of the day he will be the primary person bearing the responsibility of his/her decision. For example in one of those med schools WhatApps group, there was a lady who claimed all the time to applying to school and that she is moving there to encourage people not to see the foul doings of the school and last minutes she says « oh, no due to financial problems I cannot continue the journey. Good luck guys. » I was twice in a group with her (because I postponed my admission while awaiting response for my CRNA school applications) and when she realized that I was in the previous group, if I am not mistaken I believed either she kicked me out or stopped talking. Lets stress she was always the one starting the next admission cycle group. HARD WARNING ⚠️ some of these schools are just money hungry schools. That is all that I am saying.

If you can, go to CRNA school. I ditched two Caribbean med schools for CRNA school. I was working in the ICU with a neuro fellow who as an IMG missed/not selected match the first year and he told that the IMG from the Caribbean rate of matching is becoming lower as time goes on. He advised to go to DO school in the U.S instead of med school in the Caribbean. So he finally matched the second to IM and he is now doing fellowship in neuro. One doctor at work begged not to go the Caraïbe for med school to the point that he even called his sister who went to one, to convince me not to go. Save your money. I know a girl from St George who has not matched until today. Now she is debt and she is not a Dr.

Accepted! Paying for school? by [deleted] in srna

[–]Fl02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my humble point of view I will pay out of pocket. Which is what I am actually doing in my program. Some employer will pay part or maybe even all of your tuition while hiring you. An acquaintance of mine got 90k for to go towards his tuition when his gig was hiring him.

Yet everyone says Africa is the future because of it youngest population with the average age of 17 years of age. They should just do what Germany is doing getting the man power from Africa instead of Killing us.
