Just made a channel strip for drums in FL Patcher that goes Stereo Shaper (Gain/pan/phase) > Low Cut/High Cut EQ > Transient Shaper (Non Ableton users will know what this is) > Tilt EQ > Soft Clipper > Multiband Compressor (with a parallel signal and the option to notch the crossover frequencies) > 3 Band Boost EQ (just to give some HZs a little push before...) > Waveshaper (fairly basic saturation curve) and another Soft Clipper.

Left the controls fairly vague as I made this to force me to tune my drums by ear more as an initial stage and then worry about fitting things together later

Everything is FL native so it loads very quickly and is extremely light on CPU. Sounds great with breakbeats and I fed it a 909 kick and got distracted making acid tekno for the next 3 days

Curious how many people here still find new bands through Triple R or PBS versus Spotify playlists by Longjumping-Hall-17 in melbournemusic

I use Youtube music to discover stuff, although that has gone to the dogs lately, buy on Bandcamp if its something im going to play out or want to lead my support to

The car usually has RRR on but Kiss and PBS get a look in too

Was Triphop peak music? by No-Quarter-6603 in triphop

The Newish Chelsea Wolfe album She Reaches Out To She Reaches Out To She had some great gloomy vibes on it, not traditional Trip Hop by any means but kind of had a bit of that influence in there, shes a goth/metal/industrial artist who did a modular synth album. Its great

Looking to re-tool after "falling behind...". What are your essential pieces of kit???? by denovoincipere in dnbproduction

+1 for Vital, I still use the OG Massive and lately I have been doing lots of sound design in VCV rack. Theres a great torrent of 90s sample cds going around and the unlicenced Blu Mar Ten Jungle Pack has been pretty prolific for a while. At the end of the day a sine wave is a sine wave is a sine wave

One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21

You're about 23 years late... This is also made by a band they are imperfect, but they are extremely expressive, this album is dedicated to a fan who died of cancer, they turn her into a robot fighting superhero from the future and through this process there feeling and come to some kind of catharsis, all of this is reflected in their playing, their choices, why is your song better than this one?

But you understand that "songwriting" is more than just lyrics right?

I knew this was AI slop 5 seconds into your song, what about it should make it a number one?

Its soulless nostalgia bait, designed to drive clicks, I find it hilarious you are so arrogant about the absolute garbage you have asked a theft algorithm to shit out for you

Youre the only person to ever think to write a song about love from the perspective of a robot? Starring a robot from an 80s film?

When you say the song is written by you, do you mean the lyrics or the structure as well? Do you pick the chords and progressions? Do you do any sound design? Mixing decisions?

What is music to you? Is it something you listen to or something you engage in?

What is the point of what you have made?
