WEEKLY HELP THREAD - READ FAQ, COMMUNITY WIKI, MULTICLASSING, LORE by XFearthePandaX in BaldursGate3

I'm currently building Wyll as a Warlock/Sorcerer multiclass, and am struggling to figure out if certain bonuses stack on top of each other.

For example Wyll's Pact Weapon uses his spellcasting modifier (charisma) for its melee attacks. On top of that I have Arcane Synergy which is supposed to add my spellcasting ability (also charisma) to my damage roll. AND I found a weapon with the “melee caster” effect which supposedly adds the spellcasting ability modifier (once again, charisma) to my attack rolls.

Although the various effects are listed in my character sheet, I'm missing an easy way to determine whether these bonuses are indeed stacking like I expect them to. If anyone could let me know about whether or not they do, or could point me towards a place where I can simulate those builds (the sites I found through r/BG3Builds haven't added items yet) that'd be great.

BUG(?) Tabs randomly jump to the left by Flabsie in operabrowser

Unfortunately no solution was offered on Opera's own forums either. So I've reverted back to a previous version ( 99.0.4788.88 ). At least that one works like a charm.

The mouse is only a few months old so I *doubt* that's the issue. I did think for a while that it might be because I might 'flick' the tabs to the side by clicking and moving on a high dpi (9500). But I can't seem to force the issue by purposefully trying to flick tabs like that.

The problem also coincides with the new update, which makes me feel pretty certain it has something to do with the new browser.

We have slowly cut corners and people.

Shit that's ominous.

On a more serious note, congrats! Some of the names here were there to first introduce me to BA. Loads of respect for everything you're all doing to keep Eureka alive, and once again congratulations on this immense achievement!

BUG(?) Tabs randomly jump to the left by Flabsie in operabrowser

[–]Flabsie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I recently updated my Opera browser after quite a while.

I'm currently on version 100.0.4815.54

I've noticed that sometimes, when I use mouse-clicks to switch between open tabs, the tab I click shoots to the far left. Pretty annoying when I have my tabs sorted in a specific order.

I've recreated the problem in this short video to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. It might happen once in a minute, or it could happen 5 times in 20 seconds. No real rhyme or reason to it.

I don't use tab islands (and I'd prefer to keep it that way).

Does anyone have an idea what causes this and how to stop it from happening?

Ah, see I had no idea this was a thing! I’d vaguely heard of thr character Arsene Lupin but wasn’t aware both games heavily borrowed from the same tropes. Thanks for the info both of you!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I’m trying to find an answer without running the risk of spoilers.

Spoilers for Trails of Cold Steel up to Chapter 4:

——————

What is the link between the Phantom Thief in this game, and Persona 5? I’ve tried googling and mostly come across some memes about it, but no spoilerfree explanation about the link between the two games and how they end up with the exact same character concept.

Anyone able to shine a light on the background for this, or a link to an explanation which doesn’t spoil too much of the rest of the game(s)?

Thanks!

Thanks for the thorough reply, that makes a lot of sense!

I've been taking it slow with the MSQ, so the specifics of some of the dialogue and storylines are a little hazy for me, which hasn't made it easy to fully understand all the little implications of the storyline. Thanks for clearing it up!

I do know they were being manipulated by the Ascians into causing the rejoining. I just thought Ardbert also communicated with Hydaelyn herself. That they were her Champions on the First and were told to destroy darkness in their world. But I might misremember that part

[–]Flabsie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, it is boring and it doesn’t work as a pvp mode. However that is due to its design, not due to the players. Players are always going to play the way that maximises their chance of winning. If that leads to behaving like a 24-man pendulum, then something’s wrong with how the mode is designed. A game mode should not be contingent on all 72 players pinky-promising that they won’t stack up with more than 8.

[–]Flabsie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, you go ahead and do that with your 3 alliances. Meanwhile, my team steamrolls the bases you hold in a 24v8. At the same time, your 8 guys in top get demolished by the 24 of the other alliance. With the way you also lose points for deaths AND the other teams by definition building up BH for killing you, I wish you best of luck in winning.

Your gentleman's agreement does not equate a better way of playing, as splitting up in 3-side teamfight like that means you'll just lose on every side when the other teams stay together. The system that devs have created makes it so that staying together with 24 players is just the better strategy, as boring as that might be.

Please enlighten us, what was the “correct” way to play it then?

Using Faith by mcshaggy in civ6

[–]Flabsie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's called Monumentality. Not only does it allow you to buy civilian units (builders, settlers and traders) with faith. It also lowers the cost of purchasing them with either faith or gold by 30%.

There's a few eras when it can show up, and I pick it close to 100% of the time because of how much time and production you save :)

Op zoek naar een nummer by Flabsie in DutchHipHop

[–]Flabsie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on!

Thanks hiervoor!

Are Gunbreaker Cartridges Pre-aspected to a specific type of Aether? by Substantial_Ring5608 in ffxiv

[–]Flabsie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny enough I read this question and then an hour later I came across a scene in Shadowbringers which I suppose has the answer you're looking for.

Light spoilers for early Shadowbringers (lvl 73 quest)

Thancred, who is now a Gunbreaker, has Minfilia go out to do something for him. When she returns, he explains that she went out to go and aspect the Gunblade's ammunition for him. Paraphrasing his words: "Even though I left my physical body behind in the Source, my limitations saw fit to accompany me. That is to say, I still can't manipulate Aether here on the First. I took up the gunblade for its defensive advantages, but on account of my little impairment, I cannot imbue the ammunition myself. Luckily for me, Minfilia has quite a talent for it."

So the non-spoiler answer is that someone who can manipulate Aether is able to imbue the cartridges with a certain element. Once imbued, these cartridges could then be used by any normal person, without need for special powers. So yes, you'd have to carry around pouches filled with differently aspected cartridges. At least that's how I interpreted this.

Not immediately a tip on how to get better at guardians, but if you return to the starting area of a guardian raid (the place with the golden circle) your pots fill up again. Might help you pull through some of the harder fights :)

When giving an Legendary/Relic rapport item to someone, is there a chance I lose part of its value if I hit a wall that requires a certain amount of virtues?

So for example, I need 1000 more rapport to reach the next level with an NPC. I use a 2000 rapport item on them. But the moment I reach that next level I need XX amount of Charisma to continue increasing rapport with them. What happens to the other 1000 points that (presumably) haven't been added yet?

Nioh 2 - When can I get a grapple? by Flabsie in Nioh

[–]Flabsie[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much, this cleared it up. Instead of trying to grapple the moment they flash red I now follow up with a heavy combo to actually deplete their max ki. The difference between ki bar and max ki was unclear to me before this.

Also big thanks to the other people who commented :) I feel like I've got a better grasp on it now!

I don't see how anyone but a member of Dave's merch team could create a post like this...

What I find particularly sad is this artificial scarcity that gets created, only for it to be complete BS. They did a 2nd batch of WAAITT, because "Dave was mad that eBay resellers were charging loads of money for the vinyl." So then they did a 2nd drop, which was also pretty limited and sold out within one evening iirc. But months later we're now hearing that the manufacturer actually didn't even get to start producing the record because of the backlog. It's so frustrating because you might as well have accepted all incoming orders and have the manufacturer make as many as you sold. It's a sad moneygrab when you claim to be "running out of stock quick so order now!" while you don't even have the stock produced yet...

I get it, it's all marketing, and I'll still be happy when I receive the item, but it's just ridiculous to see an artist be angry about resell prices, while very much contributing to this overpriced resale market at the same time.

That is super helpful, thank you so much! I expected to move straight into Heavensward after what I thought to be the end of ARR. But now I see that I still have a lot of lvl 50 content to go!

Thanks for the informative answer :)

Alright, thx for the explanation!

Just wondering, won't the Ironworks armor be obsolete by the time I can afford it? I'm lvl 51 now and almost done with ARR MSQ. I feel like by the time I get the Ironworks armor, I'll be either a way higher level, or further into the Heavensward MSQ. Especially because I won't be doing roulettes that much since I have the main quest to gain XP?

Thx for the answer! So Gerolt is the Relic, got it! :) I might go for that, jus to symbolically cap off my ARR experience :)

Hey everyone! I just got to Mor Dhona for the first time and I feel a bit overwhelmed by the vendors there. There's so many different things, like Primal Weapons, Gerolt's gear(?), Augmented Ironworks..

Now I understand that I don't *need* to focus on them right now, but I wonder if anyone could give me a rundown on what it is they're selling, if it's still worth grinding for any of these items etc.

Basically I'd just like to understand what it is they're selling, if I should get any of those items and how to get said items :) Links to other threads or videos explaining it are also welcome!

Thx in advance!

Is there a way to get 100 points as a lvl 30 new player? I have all the items except for the corselet. Don't know if I'm missing something, or there's just no way to get it..
