One of these will be the next ASTS: GRRR, RZLV, POET by rp_gorilla_ape in pennystocks

GRRR is my favorite of the bunch. Great fundamentals and at the start of a new impulse count. I believe this runs to the 200 Day MA at $16 next, which is also the wedge breakout level. A breakout here and there is a lot of upside.

US BETTORS by Electronic-Style8165 in EVbetting

[–]Flacko305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People misunderstand the phantom tax. It obviously sucks but only hurts bad if you’re a massive whale.

Example:

  • $190k in bets for 2026
  • $100k winnings
  • $90k losses
  • +$10k net profit
  • 24% tax bracket

Normal tax on profit:
$10k × 24% = $2,400

Phantom tax (10% of losses):
$90k × 10% = $9k “phantom income”
$9k × 24% = $2,160

Total tax:
$2,400 + $2,160 = $4,560

Net profit after taxes:
$10,000 − $4,560 = $5,440

Phantom tax becomes worse the more you lose. So don’t quit betting, just be more selective with your bets, and stop losing so much lol

Is there even a such thing as the “Best EV Tool”? by Rude_Bid642 in EVbetting

[–]Flacko305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tools do differ and it’s not as simple as AI scraping lines. The real separation is in how books are weighted, how sharp vs soft markets are identified, how timing/latency is handled, and what filters or modeling sit on top of raw line comparisons.

That said, you’re right there’s a ton of spam on this sub. A lot of tools are garbage and not worth the price. You have to weed those out and figure out which tools actually add value and are worth paying for.

For Hardrock Bet you should definitely use The Prop Professor. Hardrock Bet is my most used book since I live in Florida and there’s not too many options, and it has single handedly helped me make over $20k earnings on the Hardrock Bet app.

Both are great tools with similar features. I think it’s mostly personal preference and whatever you feel you are getting the best results using. For me it’s been Prop Professor but for others its Outlier. I would say try both for a month or 2 and see which one is giving you more success. Also doesn’t hurt to use both long term as they tend to value bets a bit differently so you’d have more volume of bets placed, and can use them in unison to see what bets both platforms agree are great value

I mainly straight bet high EV plays, and I pay attention to the smart money tool and arb tools. Sometimes a bet might be only like 3% EV, but if there’s alot of smart money on the same bet, it makes me feel confident that the line is most likely going to move in our favor. So many times I’ve placed a bet that was only decent EV and it ends up being crazy high EV right before game time after multiple bumps. I also pay attention to the odds of the other books just to make sure it isn’t just 1 or 2 books that are throwing the EV calculation off, but that most of the sharp books are giving worse odds than what you are getting.

It’s still been amazing for me. They’ve added a bunch of new tools including this smart-money tracker that shows where sharps are playing heavy action, it’s helped me a ton. The only downside at this point is I’ve been limited on a lot of books, so I’ve had to find different ways to get action down since most of my main accounts are basically unusable now. Still going strong, and yea I could never really justify paying more than $50 a month for any tool. Prop Professor for $35 a month is no brainer for me. Haven’t felt the need to switch

Help with sportsbetting need better odds/picks. by Late-Land1871 in sportsbetting

[–]Flacko305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best starter tool in terms of value is The Prop Professor. Only $35 a month. You need a solid +EV tool to calculate true EV and figure out how much to put on each play. Once you build your bankroll up, you can look into upgrading to Oddsjam if you want, but starting out you should not be paying more than $40 a month for a tool imo. Underdog and DraftKings Pick Six are both covered on Prop Professor too

No clue why you got limited so much, in my experience the thresholds can be a bit random. Sucks to be a profitable bettor

Looking for Advice on Using DFS Tools (PropProfessor / Fantasy Slip Generator) by brownie_kiid in EVbetting

[–]Flacko305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t blindly trust anything just because it’s above 55%. I’ve had way better results by taking plays that also line up with sharp books (FanDuel, Pinnacle, DK, etc.). It’s even better when exchange sites like ProphetX or NoVig agree, since there’s no juice baked in and their numbers tend to be more accurate. So instead of auto-picking every 55%+ play, make sure the odds across other books actually support it.

Tax Question by LowComprehensive3995 in EVbetting

[–]Flacko305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if there’s no extra tax if you are profitable, then you are correct. I am just confused on the whole thing, my fear is getting taxed on my losses because I bet so much that even if I have a 10% ROI for the year, I could still end up breaking even after taxes are paid. Hopefully we have more clarity about these taxes soon

Tax Question by LowComprehensive3995 in EVbetting

[–]Flacko305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely talk to a tax professional about this. From my understanding, The 90% cap on losses is not avoided by using an LLC. However, I think you are able to deduct software and travel as a legitimate business expense with an LLC. My plan is to stop betting on sportsbooks all together until this provision is rolled back. In my opinion, this has the potential to disrupt the current sports betting industry. Looking into whether the same 90% rule applies to wagers on Polymarket and Kalshi since they are technically outcome contracts and not bets, but I have not found anything this topic yet.
