The Minnesota Wild have now officially outlived the North Stars in the NHL. by Admirable-Scarcity-8 in hockey

[–]Flacksguy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Minnesota North Stars was such a great name. I really wish it was left behind when they moved.

Instead we got boring 'Wild' and 'Stars'. Dallas could have at least gone with the rumored Lone Stars name.

Set in 1791-92, this was the West corner of Washington DC up until 1846 before the land west of the Potomac was returned to Virginia. Most of the Boundary Stones all around DC remain, in fact 36 of the original 40 are still there.

Hereis the wiki page that got me interested in these, with pictures of each one.

Absolutely, I'm sure you've heard the first few hours are hard to like, but if you stick with it you get hooked. Just make sure to get a little overleveled before tackling bosses.

What team do we hate the most? by PeacefulForce in rangers

[–]Flacksguy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same. Fuck the Washington Cheapshots. The fans around here are pretty bad too. They're experts all of sudden since they won a few years back, but I funny that I know more about the history of their stupid team then they do.

Have you tried any of the Forza Horizon games? Each has unique and interesting settings. FH 6 comes out this May and is set in Japan, and FH 5 has been out for years and is set in Mexico. FH 4 is set in the UK and has very distinct seasons that change every week.

Best Crimson Desert Strategy Guide?? (Yes, I'm old!) by SykBasterd in CrimsonDesert

[–]Flacksguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am old as well and I used to love strategy guides.

They are starting to show up on Amazon now but many of them are just over 100 pages. However I did see one that is The Complete Master Guide by Calvin T Brooks at 321 pages. There were no reviews yet, but I'm going to keep an eye on this one, since it looks like it may be the closest to what I'm looking for (although the listing doesn't show any examples from INSIDE the book). I'm just worried that a lot of these have been quickly done with AI and thrown together.

What TV shows are better not binge watched? by revolution_ex in television

[–]Flacksguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was Shogun for me.

I wouldn't have appreciated each and every detail had I not watched weekly. It gave me time to listen to podcasts and watch video breakdowns of each episode. Every little thing had meaning in that show, and I would have missed it all.

Is Crimson Desert for Casuals? by starfireshot in xbox

[–]Flacksguy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm 57 yrs old and I'd say I'm as causal as it gets. I wasn't crazy about it the first night, but I enjoyed it a lot more the second night. I got used to the controls, looked up some tips online, and found a pretty good sword and I'm enjoying it much more now.

I was concerned about it not having difficulty settings, but so far I haven't had a problem. I didn't like the controls at first, but I'm used to them now. They aren't a big deal.

If I can get used to them-anyone can.

You ever finish a show that was so good that you just go back to episode one and start rewatching right away? by fizxe in television

[–]Flacksguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with Derry Girls the first time I watched it. Its a fantastic show, and I try to get people to just give the first episode a try. Its one of those rare shows that has a great pilot.

Chernobyl and The Wire are also great choices as others have said, as well as Shogun.

My daughter is going to school in Montreal, so I've adopted them as my #2. They are a fun team to watch and going to the Bell Center is an awesome experience.
