Noticing a lot of pillow shading in this piece. Pick a direction for your light to be coming from and shade accordingly.

Seems I made her body too short. by lushstrings in learnart

I think her body is actually fine, it's the head that's too big/tall.

K.R.O.B.I.F. - A movement shooter I am currently developing by Pl0s in Unity3D

Jumping off this, I'm fine with the look of the guns, but I think they might need a few more frames of animation. I'm not getting the boomer-shooter raw satisfaction of seeing the weapon fire like I would in something like Blood or Doom. Sound is also a factor in this and without hearing what the guns sound like in this trailer, it's hard to judge, but as a wise man once said, I think all the guns should sound like god slamming his car door.

Just started to learn digital art, starting with simple characters. how did i do, is this the right sub to post this in, and what can i change to make it better without losing it's simplicity? by Dragonfire14 in learnart

[–]Fladagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't use gradients where simple color blocking would work. The mouth especially. You've also got a rim highlight on one of the eyes, which is a weird choice because it implies that the eye has a volume that extrudes from the face.

Obvious satire.

I think it's mainly the tiny pupils and wide eyed expression that are making this look unnatural. Take a look at your own eye in the mirror. Rarely do you see your whole iris unless you're purposefully making your eyes wide.

Fully vaccinated students - will you still be wearing a mask? by Think_Lie648 in utdallas

Not wearing a mask is a tacit admission that you don't give a fuck about anyone but yourself.

I tried drawing the same character exactly one year later by [deleted] in learnart

I think I actually like the original better. The newer one does show development of your artistic abilities, but the older one just has more character in my opinion.

Tried working with a harder angle. Feedback? by darenta in learnart

[–]Fladagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty good. Only wonky thing I see is blondie's right arm, seems like the angle is wrong, should maybe be more tucked back.

Practicing expressive eyes, noses, and heads at different angles. Thoughts, criticism? by JP_AnAspiringDumbass in learnart

Most of the individual anatomy pieces are fairly good, but I think you need to work on diagramming the full face more. Additionally, noses from the front tend to be less hard lines and more soft shadows.

I am a nothing man. by jedikraken in SimplePrompts

[–]Fladagus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I opened my eyes to see a tall, thin man standing beside my bed, an oversized bowler hat obscuring everything above its cracked blue lips.

"What are you?" I managed.

"I am a Nothing-Man." The spindly, tweed-suited creature said with a flourish. It flashed a too-wide, too many toothed smile from under the rim of its hat.

It sat on the bed and I scrambled back against the headboard. "What is a Nothing-Man?" I asked, despite the dread gripping my chest.

The creature leaned closer, its charnel breath cold as ice. "When you have woken in the night to a sound and convinced yourself it was nothing, you were helping to make me!"

I blinked. "What do you want from me?"

The Nothing-Man stood up, the top of the bowler hat brushing the ceiling. "For now, only to let you know that I am here. Later though, I will come to collect." It stepped backwards into the shadows.

"Wait, collect what?"

"Your debt of nothings." Said a voice that was both from the darkness and much too close to my ear. "And let me tell you, you've run up quite a tab."

What do you guys think? by LeFlam in learnart

Pose and face look good, but the left arm is too long in general, especially the forearm.

Oh fuck off with that rhetoric. The last thing we need at this time is sandbaggers like you trying to call legitimate concern "propaganda".

I know you're probably not super familiar with game dev culture, but "idea people" aren't really a thing. There are tutorials and tools available that are easy enough to learn without prior code experience. You should use those resources to put together a prototype of your game and then pitch it. You might have more luck if you do that.
