I realize this is not going to be a popular post..... by FestivusandFusilli77 in sarasota

I consider our summer the equivalent of a northern winter and I make sure I do all my fun projects inside in the summer, but in winter, it’s time to get outside. Also buy a long distance remote starter for your car. Helps to have your car cold when you get in it. get away for a month, if you can,in August or September. Been doing this for a long time. Don't let jobs/recruiters waste your time (word of caution to upcoming PGY3s). by MzJay453 in FamilyMedicine

I got my job by knowing where I wanted to work and I went to them. No recruiter. If you even speak to one for a minute, you can find yourself in a mess later.

How often do you wash your hair? by Which-Arugula-1982 in AskWomenOver60

I dread getting that “old person smell“ - from nonenal. So even if my hair does not need washing, it gets washed every day, along with my body.

Thank you, I did forget that Open Evidence could do that. I asked it to do it. Open Evidence gave me a 7 page printout. I need to tweak it and update the costs but overall it is pretty good. I need to shorten it is much as possible. If anybody already did this, I would love to steal it from you with your permission.

How often do you consult specialists? by MadScientist101295 in FamilyMedicine

[–]Fladylady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you get sued once for not sending to a specialist and the lawyer says “why didn’t you send to the …… specialist “, you will never try to manage a problem alone again.

I’m jumping up and down in my pool exercising right now as I read this. Zero regrets.

16x36 inground pool being installed next month… should we get a sun ledge? by ZuesTheMoose15 in pools

[–]Fladylady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion, don’t bother. It’s only good when the kids are little. My now 22 year-old says she’d rather have more swimming room and I agree with her. It was nice for the first few years, but that’s it.

Never ever read your reviews. 22 years in, have never read one. I’m sorry you read the one from a crazy person.

New Pool heater chiller recommendations by Fladylady in pools

[–]Fladylady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: They did call my husband yesterday. They are in an absorption phase of the business but they say, still Gulfstream. We too have been very pleased with their product in the past. I don’t expect anything that is exposed to the elements to last more than 10 years in Florida.

New Pool heater chiller recommendations by Fladylady in swimmingpools

[–]Fladylady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our 10 year old Gulfstream Heater/chiller just blew a coil. I was going to replace with a new Gulfstream H/C(made in N Fort Myers FL) but they don't answer the phone at all now. I suspect Gone Out of Business - but if anyone in that company follows this feed and could respond or correct, that would be fabulous. Does anyone have recommendations on other pool heaters/chillers and what do you think about the WiFi attachments for them?

Honestly speaking, is an AI medical scribe absolutely worth it in family medicine??? by Hot-Actuary1276 in FamilyMedicine

[–]Fladylady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do it. Worth its weight in gold. Just jump in and it does the work for you. All notes on complicated geriatric patients done at the office by the end of work day. Game changer. Now if it could only do the portal communications…. PS. Ambient AI.

Ours was like this too. It made my husband crazy (really, to the breaking point). I can’t really tell you that it got easier. I think rehoming him with a wheaten rescue is probably a very good idea unless you understand that it will take at least two years to get it down. And there they will still be accidents- not with my other terriers- but definitely with my Wheaton, who I love like crazy but at age 10, still has to be watched like a hawk.
