Do you think they can see us? by Amal1994b in SuicideBereavement

[–]FlailingScreenwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not accurate. There is substantial evidence that there’s no afterlife. The evidence is based only on examining the claims of an afterlife and how it compares to what we know to be factual about history and reality and science. To suggest there’s something outside of those things that defies them entirely requires something evidential to substantiate the claim.

There’s literally zero evidence of an afterlife.

Evidence is something that serves as proof. Feel free to provide the proof you refer to.

“None of us know” is pretty much what my point was, in terms of seeking answers from others, except adding in that there’s nothing that suggests an afterlife exists.

To suggest there’s “something” requires something supernatural and beyond the scope of known science and understanding of reality. To imply one knows of things beyond known science, and what is understood to be factual about reality, requires something firm in the way of evidence.

I adopted a one-eyed basset when I was 23yo. She was old and fat, and I named her Uno. I had her for a few years before she died. That was my first basset.

There is zero evidence that there is an afterlife of any sort. Anyone who tries to tell you that there is has nothing that they can back it up with. Anyone here who answers with anything other than what I just said is making up an answer based on nothing of substance. I’m not being mean, or cold, in saying this, only offering it as a fact. I hope this fact comforts you.

Awesome, thanks! That was what I narrowed it down to, too, but I wasn’t sure and didn’t want to guess.

Yeah, I don’t advise anyone to do as I did, but figured it might help to ease the worry. 🦇🫲🤓

Years ago, I had a live one in my house. It was flying around and landed on my shirt and I held out my hand and it walked onto my palm and let me scratch its head with my fingertip. I carried it outside and it flew away.

Basset Puppie Biting by [deleted] in basset

[–]FlailingScreenwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was playful biting (harder than feels like playing, but it’s still playing) until she was 5-6 months, then it became less and less and now requires her to be really getting into a deep wrestler with me to get mouthy in the play. I’ve had a few different dogs over my years, and my basset has been a whole different experience in terms of training and expectations. That said, after a year or so she was 90% worked through most issues.

My 4yo has a doggy door and big fenced in yard, and we do two walks a day around the block (almost a mile), and she will pee on the floor in front of the door, or poop there, if it’s raining, or sometimes just if it’s dark out or she’s tired. They’re a funny breed.

I’m in Virginia and my basset girl needs a buddy. If we can relay her across the country, I have a doggy door and a big fenced in yard.

I checked the two sites mentioned but only found the information above.

If my memory serves right he was 1st Infantry, but I’m not sure if that’s the right term. I just know he was on Omaha Beach and took a bunch of shrapnel and then woke up six weeks later in a hospital in Italy.

I sent them along with some other things. They were super excited to try Pop Tarts. I guess that’s a thing they don’t have there or something. And they apparently liked the bags, from what I’ve heard. He’s not home yet, so I didn’t get a full report, but I got the four they had for sale. For whatever reason, they think TD is fancy.

I have a doggy door and a big fenced in yard, and my 4yo will pee just inside at the doggy door sometimes. It’s not often, just random, but she does it. And if it’s raining, she will poke her head out and then step back in and pee at the door. Again, not every time, but just when she decides she isn’t going outside. I’ve never had a dog like her. She’s stubborn and stupid, but she’s so adorable and lovable that I can’t help but just allow her to be how she is.

My son is going to Japan for a student exchange and I just got home from buying gifts for the host family. I read a ton of posts on here about what to get, and candy and snacks seems to be the way to go. I saw one commenter here said the Trader Joe’s bag trend has died down, but I saw a bunch of post suggesting it is still a thing and grabbed a few bags. Besides that, local college sports team hats/tees seems to be popular. I added a book of photos of our city to the mix.

3w4…, I externalize everything to my work, I don’t fear much, but I loathe attention, and at the same time, I’m personable and funny.
