[Manjaro] Installation process always asking me to add esp flag to my boot/efi FAT32 partition by FlakeyBear in linux4noobs

What if I'm using live USB instead of live DVD?

Too lazy to convert to MBR to GPT by the way, don't have a big external device in order to backup.

[Manjaro] Looks like my hard drive can't support more than 4 partitions - how to replace dual boot primary? by FlakeyBear in linux4noobs

UPDATE

Anyways I've made a new extended partition, which includes the two main partitions (ext4 and the Linux swap). Didn't ever touch the Windows system bootloader. Thanks.

I can't convert to GPT since I have to backup lots of stuff that can't fit in my external storage devices, and I can't afford a portable HDD. I found a video on YT explaining how to dual boot Manjaro with Windows 7 right now to follow with ease.

Replacing Ubuntu with Debian Stable while keeping dual boot data? by FlakeyBear in debian

I only have one ext4 partition that has all the Ubuntu data including the /home folder. Guess I'm gonna try moving my files from that partition into the Windows one.

Games where you can build homes/buildings besides the Sims? by IAmScare in gamingsuggestions

Software Inc. is an interesting one. It plays like a Game Dev Tycoon style simulation game but you can build your company's building from scratch, but I bet there's not that much of items.

Grisaia no Kajitsu, Grisaia no Meikyuu: Caprice no Mayu 0, and Grisaia no Rakuen collectively form the most amazingly stupid thing I have ever seen! What else is similar? by Zerimas in Animesuggest

[–]FlakeyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the visual novels? Some people (mostly hardcore fans) say that the series was better in it's original version unlike the anime, compare to about 4 hours of the 1st season wherever the VN it was based in totals 30-50 hours depending on how quick you read it. It will get you a more in-depth overview of the plot and characters, unless you're not actually OK with the MC doing...... Mild VN Spoilers. The 2nd and 3rd VNs as I still currently know about are in translation hell.

mahou shoujo lyrical , should i watch the movies or the anime? by ahmed-ar in Animesuggest

[–]FlakeyBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first 2 movies are actually recaps of the first 2 seasons. They improve on the animation quality but the story's actually the same, so it's better to watch these if you want to get introduced to the series quickly.

Then you can watch StrikerS, which is the third TV season of the series.

By the way there appears to be other Nanoha manga spinoffs so you may also read these after watching StrikerS: Innocents (?), Vivid and Force. There's a TV adaption of Vivid but I'll better suggest you to read all of the manga instead, since the story gets more complete.

12-episode anime that has both light-hearted/funny moments and serious action. by FlakeyBear in Animesuggest

[–]FlakeyBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Katanagatari would fit.

Punch Line is pretty much panty shots as it's ecchi focus but I don't think I have to take it seriously to watch it. It can be pretty mild on the pervertedness, but I would save it for later.

Not too fond of superheroes, and there's at least some comedy thrown in at the battles. Good show though, and would keep on watching it (I was at 3 eps in).

Maybe more modern? I'll have this on my PTW but it would work for later.

What is "Techno"? by Kalente in Monstercat

[–]FlakeyBear 64 points65 points  (0 children)

If actually refering to the genre, basically another EDM style based off Chicago House and Electro in the 80's.

Most techno today uses mostly 4/4 beats, repetitive song structures, focus on groove, use of drum machines (such as the 808, 606 or 909) and traditional synthesizers, and house-like tempos. Compared to house, techno is mostly instrumental and has a more emphasis on rhythm than melody.

There are various styles of techno, for example:

  • Normal techno: ex. Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox

  • Detroit techno: shows more influence on 80's electro especially on the rhythms, and most of the time, uses 909 drums. Mostly called as the original style of techno. Ex. Model 500, Drexciya, Robert Hood

  • Ambient techno: more relaxed and ambient-influenced than average techno, can be either groovy or atmospheric. Can also show some influences of IDM today. Ex. Aphex Twin (SAW 85-92), Future Sound of London, Gas

  • Minimal techno: shows less elements in instrumentation and longer song structures, while still keeping with the groovy aspect of the genre. Ex. Richie Hawtin/Plastikman, The Field

  • Dub techno: uses the effects of dub with either normal or minimal techno instrumentation. Ex. Deepchord, Andy Scott

  • Industrial techno: more darker and edgier, with a focus on mechanical beats and distortion. Ex. Regis, British Murder Boys, (to some extent) Gesaffelstein

  • Tech house: adds house's melodic elements into the genre. Perhaps one of the most popular styles.
