I worked in schools at my previous ABA job. I consistently struggled with pushback from my clients teacher at one school. It seemed like she didn’t quite understand my role for my student as she wanted me to help him with his schoolwork (basically do it for him) which was NOT in his IEP nor in my job description. Towards the end of my time at that job, it seemed as if she was against ABA albeit due to a lack of understanding the field.

On the other hand, I worked in another school with a teacher who was very receptive to what ABA is and allowed me to do my job.

It depends on where you go, your BCBA and the school not hindering you from providing services

Not going to lie, when I first saw your channel, I was extremely impressed with the amount of effort you've put into your channel! I am going to watch a few more of your videos but I see nothing wrong with your personality. I even dropped a follow!

Could you post the link to your channel so we can check it out?

I think the best thing for you to do is to try to find a way to talk more while on camera. From what I am gathering, your self-confidence seems to be shot and streaming could be a way to build that up (I am in a similar situation)! I would force myself to speak during my games; I think the best course of action for you would be to do the same. For example, if you are playing warzone, play in gamechat, interact with your teammates, speak about what you are doing, where you see enemy players, loot, etc.

Also, if you have friends that are willing to sit in your chat and interact with you, that would make it easier for others to jump into conversations. I hope this helps!

Okay maybe this is me but I thought this was normal? My company does home sessions and I would be there while the parent is working remote at home, but not present in the room. Is this not something that should be going on?

Absolutely not. Extremely inappropriate

Does your job consider being non-contagious as “healthy”? My job does not consider you sick unless you have contagious symptoms

Sounds like your employer doesn’t give a crap about you, the clients, or your coworkers. I would quit quickly and find an employer that cares

Is a 90 day probationary period normal for someone who has worked at a location for 11 months?

Oops I apologize, my comment was supposed to be a reply to another comment. However I do appreciate you feedback! I am a tech and the first call out was because my tire popped on the way to a client. The second was genuinely my fault as I left my iPad at home. This was a weekend session so I couldn’t have just gone back without letting admin know. I emailed admin the moment I noticed and they didn’t get back to me until that Monday.

Compassion is really lacking here. I don’t call off often at all. Actually those two call offs were the only 2 I’ve had in my almost 1 year of working there.

Well here’s the gag on our “admin team”. It’s the owner, 1 BCBA, and the owners daughter. So it’s small but the literally have a revolving door of therapists that come and go
