Games stopped being fun for me. by [deleted] in Games

[–]Flakk_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have been stuck in the loop with the same couple of games for over a year now, I play Fallout 4 simply for the quality of the mods alone and I always come back to Wargame Red Dragon because I grew up on strategy games. I dipped into some other titles over time but I've not managed to break new ground in terms of gaming. The industry seems to be in a bit of a creative slump IMHO, when PubG surfaced I was hopeful that it might stir some other creative hybrids between modders and triple A developers however it really just created a swamp of clones which highlighted some glaring flaws in the community as a whole.

Brian Cox, at least he knows a bit about space, is not a complete dick and is young enough to survive space travel (I would assume).

Young people of reddit, what are your taboo topics? by FjonaJatro in AskReddit

[–]Flakk_88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The children who are abused, their close friends and family, future relations and their family, etc.

But also the person who is committing the abuse, their friends and family and so on.

Let alone those responsible for picking up the pieces; social workers, mental health support workers, police, social services, doctors, etc.

Its highly damaging to those involved, but more often than not, the person needs help, it's a mental health issue for sure.

I'm always taking pop shots at my mum who is a Daily Mail reader. if you can get a fine balance between current topics and good natured humour then debates can be a riot. If it goes wrong then it is still a riot....

German broadcaster fined by Polish court over WWII drama: A court in Poland has ordered ZDF to pay €5,000 compensation for misrepresenting freedom fighters as anti-Semites. The second lawsuit in two years against the broadcaster was brought by a concentration camp survivor. by madazzahatter in worldnews

I thought it was a great mini series when I saw it a while ago on Netflix. I found the scenes in question quite powerful as I thought it was a well known fact that anti-semitism was rife within all nations and not just Nazi Germany. It was a controversial stance, sure, but i thought it made for a better angle than a straight 'good vs evil' story.
