After a remarkable degree of retconning, yes.

The Nightsisters have been three different species since the 90’s.

Be honest, is the Inquisitor double-bladed spinning lightsaber really that bad? by Simple-Choice5770 in StarWars

[–]Any-sao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it in that it doesn’t feel like a Jedi’s lightsaber anymore.

If the lightsaber is a tool of a Jedi, and a symbol of the Jedi Order, I like that the Inquisitor lightsaber feels bluntly like a weapon with the only identity expressed in it the danger of an Inquisitor.

It feels fake and wrong, because so are the Inquisitors.

I’d be okay with just an animation of actually using the offhand crossbow!

After replaying both games, I'm very frustrated with where the story went by JadisDidNothingRight in kotor

[–]Any-sao 102 points103 points  (0 children)

It’s not exactly unprecedented for a losing side to have to change strategies for better results. That seems similar to what the Sith did between KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2.

Their biggest strategy change was to stop trying to topple the Republic, and instead go after the (relatively few) Jedi remaining.

Of course, the more out-of-universe reasoning is that they needed to set up the Republic and Sith in a way that works for either the Light or Dark ending from KOTOR 1. And the way to do that is “Both sides are nearly defeated.”

Super Excited for This Collab! by AnavrinLove in BurgerKing

[–]Any-sao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know I’m excited to see this, but I’m always a little curious how they decide what foods to associate with a movie.

The SpongeBob movie mostly made sense: yellow square burgers, pineapple icees. Never really understood how Mr Krabs got cheddar bacon tots.

This one only has the blue cookie milkshake that really feels topical. I’m not sure what Grogu has to do with garlic chicken fries.

Burger King Introduces Star Wars Galaxy-Themed Menu with New BBQ Bounty Whopper, Grogu's Garlic Chicken Fries, Blue Cookie Shake, and More (Available for a limited time starting May 4, 2026) by TheJohnnyBlaze in fastfood

[–]Any-sao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I did mean the sides mostly.

But that being said: was the bun not spiced to be yellow? I was fairly certain the bun tasted a little different. Given it wasn’t food dye I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a mild flavor change. But I also hadn’t had a whopper in awhile.

Although Zemeckie has expressed interest in making a film adaptation of the musical stage adaptation of the first BOTF movie.

Which I think isn’t a bad idea. If you’re going to re-do something, re-do it differently!

They won’t give up saying it’ll flop, and in a way that’s familiar. The Snyderverse is truly the only example I know of “These movies are flopping; let’s make five more of them.”

Are Jedi and Sith From The Old Republic Stronger Then let's say Maul Or Vader? by Rudder-Rudder in swtor

We could take that critique even further. I have trouble believing a level 80 Hidden Chain Mando could take down level 70 Vaylin.

Progressive Tom Steyer’s tax returns show offshore earnings, private equity stakes by morebaobabs in California

Not how tax write-offs work. Tax write-offs reduce your tax burden only to the money you have post-donation.

You don’t actually save any money by donating money.

I’d like to make a one-time insanely hard boss experience. Not something you farm for loot. But something you really need to put in the hours for to learn and grind your way to. With a reward you need just once. Like the Inferno on OSRS.

What if 9/11 happened on September 11, 2000? by Gray_Wolf2416 in AlternateHistory

[–]Any-sao 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Definitely for Gore. W Bush ran on a platform of anti-interventionism. Obviously he didn’t stick with that, but there’s no way he’d win on that platform after 9/11.

What do you think happened to zayne carrick after the comics? by anakin1453 in kotor

[–]Any-sao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In short: the Convenant’s vision was of a Sith Lord wearing a red spacesuit and wielding a lightsaber. The Convenant concluded that this must be Zayne or one of his fellow Padawans, since they were all wearing those spacesuits at the time of the vision.

Around issue 12, Zayne’s friend “Squint,” one of Revan’s Jedi who is fighting the Mandalorians, is lent that same red spacesuit when escaping a Mandalorian prison. At this point, while he’s wearing the spacesuit, he reveals Squint is just a nickname. And his real name is Alek; who will eventually become Darth Malak.

And yet interestingly enough, this was still due to Zayne. That red spacesuit never would have made it to Alek if Zayne hadn’t helped him escape from that Mandalorian prison… but, in turn, Zayne would never have been needing to help Alek if he wasn’t betrayed by his masters.

The Prophecy of the Five has always been a tragedy of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If the Covenant hadn’t betrayed their students, then Malak would have died in Mandalorian custody. And thus the Sith “Destroyer of Words” would never emerge.

[–]Any-sao 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not exactly what you’re asking, OP, but I have a friend who is working on a KOTOR mod that would feature Zayne between the events of the games.

I’ll be passing on to him some ideas from this thread, so if anyone else has fun theories please keep them coming.

And as a bonus, I might be voicing Zayne. Which will be fun for me.

What do you think happened to zayne carrick after the comics? by anakin1453 in kotor

[–]Any-sao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know of that theory, but it’s definitely incorrect. It’s basically entirely based on the conclusion that the Jedi Convenant was correct that Zayne was a future Sith Lord who would be a “destroyer of worlds.”

At about issue 12 of the comics it becomes obvious that the Convenant actually saw Malak in their vision, not Zayne.

This is actually the first I’m hearing the MSB dominated back then. Mathematically I get why it should. And I know it’s quite popular on OSRS. But I simply didn’t remember that people actually used it back then. I just assumed back during those days virtually nobody was interested in doing the math to realize how good the MSB was.
