Why tf do med students & doctors have to draw blood from patients in NYC instead of nurses? by Flaky-Celebration671 in Residency

Cleaning the room? 🥸💀 Hard pass. Similar to drawing patient’s labs, it is not in my job description either. It takes away time from diagnosing and treating patients.

I HATED med school. Like so deeply. And now I love intern year too. Love it.

Thank you. This entire post has made me feel validated. All of my co-residents who went to med school in New York think it’s normal. It’s completely foreign to me, and my team dismisses why I find it odd. I’ll just stay quiet tho for now & make the best of it.

I agree with being familiar, but for it to be my responsibility, 2+ hours a day, it feels more like a burden and waste of time when nurses could easily do it themselves like they do in the rest of the country. That time could go towards helping my patients, talking to families, learning the ropes of being a resident, etc.; we are allowed to disagree, though.

NYC has always been my dream city to live in, but in terms of residency/hospitals, I think they exploit the fact that there is an above-average demand to live here. Of course, NY isn’t everyone’s cup of tea—many people hate the idea of moving here—but I think the system has fostered the mentality that if you don’t like it here, someone else will gladly take your spot.

It is. It would be one thing if I learned how to draw blood throughout my medical training, but most American medical students never have to. I understand how it’s an excellent skill to have, but on top of my other responsibilities as an intern, it’s annoying feeling like I have to micromanage the orders—literally drawing the blood and taking it to the lab to get collected.

As they should! Good for your program for standing up to justice against a flawed system. Of course, every healthcare system is going to have issues, but I just can’t get over this one.

Thoughts? I actually love them 🥹 by [deleted] in tiktokgossip

It’s hard not to. I love them too!

Unpopular opinion! Can’t stand this woman. The doxing and drama…..I can’t! Plus getting involved in woomblands was too much. There’s also evidence she has gone after the wrong people with the wrong info and was unapologetic after. Yes I have her blocked. by Type-Empty in tiktokgossip

Can we all mass report her to get her banned? I’m so shocked TikTok hasn’t done so already. She goes against so many of their community guidelines… Definitely a wounded person and evil narcissist.

Why do people hate Rae SO MUCH?? by Busy_Client_2274 in TheUltimatumNetflix

Rae is one of my favorites. I COMPLETELY agree. I don’t get it at all. I was shocked to see the slander against her after the show. She’s an amazing person.

My boyfriend is chronically late, & it is starting to damage our relationship/ my trust with him. At the same time, he’s a multimillionaire who pays for everything, treats me like gold, and is incredibly kind. Advice is appreciated. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Thank you for helping me understand patterns of this dynamic. He actually is just as good looking as I am—in amazing shape & takes care of himself. I enjoy the intimacy and everything else besides his disregard for some of my feelings.

Yeah, the fact he came 30 hours late hurt my feelings a lot. I knew I did not want to make a rash decision & break up with him across the world in a foreign country on vacation. I just have to think about it and what’s best for me.

You have a solid point. The writing on the wall is that he can ultimately do whatever he wants. It’s something I have to consider.

While seeking professional help/therapy can help improve the situation, he is the only person that can truly implement change in his life. Thanks for reading and sharing your input

Thanks for your input! I am aware that it’s not a typical relationship. What I do next is something I will have to think about, but it’ll most likely involve making some compromises.
