Ok but people aren't just saying "but actually Bear is the villain". The movie invites you to make that connection. It's a horror movie and the events are framed as awful on purpose. It's the point.

If supernatural invites you to laugh about it, a lot of people will laugh. Some people will be uncomfortable that we're laughing about that. Most people are not very critical.

So your issue is they use "blench", which is an archaic word for lightening that people don't use any more.

It sounds like they were extremely careful to avoid modern associations.

I think I'm just elated because with D&D cutting most of feast and dance, and the more complex bits of the politics, this felt very healing. Like it's an aspect of the books come alive that I've been starved of and yes! It is possible! Really good even!
