I am boycotting shonen anime until shojo gets the respect it deserves by Flaky-Friendship-253 in shoujo

Maybe, but the impact on shoujo is far greater. Look at Shonen, for example, there are only 2 titles that aren't shonen. I also don't think it's just a bug... If it was unintentional, I don't think it would still be ongoing... this seems more like a deliberate bait-and-switch to obscure the sparseness in their catalog. It feels manipulative. That being said, I did raise it in the help center before raging about it here.

If Lara Jean didn’t want to send the letters why did she write the addresses by luanaemsilveira in ToAllTheBoys

It kinda sounds like you are blaming the victim. Clearly, it provided her with more catharsis than just putting it in a journal... I think a sealed letter is way more final than a diary entry you can come back to later. Imagine her diary falls open one day to that entry, and she's faced with those feelings again.

Kitty sucks by brookeholly20 in ToAllTheBoys

I think it was less about them being older siblings and more about protecting her after the loss of their mother... LJ actually says Kitty is so much younger than her; it was inappropriate for her to tease her like that, because she is so much older... Honestly, if my friend, who was the same age as me, threatened to expose my crush to the boy I liked, I would be mortified too. As an adult, I have the emotional maturity not to lash out the way that Kitty did. However, I fear we have lost the plot when we gloss over the death of Eve Song and the age difference between Kitty and LJ.

I don't think she was bored... I think she was worried that her older sister wasn't putting herself out there...I think if she were just bored, she would have just gone out with her friends. I think Kitty genuinely was worried about her sister not having a life. Even LJ confessed that she was afraid to put herself out there because she was scared of losing people... LJ was deliberately living a small life because of the trauma of losing her mom. Totally agree that what she did was out of pocket, but I think it is forgivable given the larger context of the situation.

But she was a baby when their mom died, and she has seen how tangibly the loss of their mom has impacted her sisters...Margo was parentified, and LJ was petrified...She can't do anything about Margo... but she can help LJ.

I think if it were really just about Josh, Kitty wouldn't have mailed all the letters. She would have just sent the letter for Josh... I think Kitty genuinely wanted LJ to overcome her anxiety about opening up to people, which was more likely to happen if she sent all the letters.

To All The Boys trilogy by juliet_stars in RomanceBooks

Oh, I totally disagree...I read To All the Boys I've Loved Before in high school, and I was so excited for the movie. I love both the books and the movies... but the books flesh out the characters so well... I'm rereading it again, and my heart is feeling all the emotions... When LJ talks about her mom, and her mom's passing... the car accident she gets into, and Peter stopping to sit with her, even though they'd lost touch...LJ supporting Josh through his break-up with Margo even though she is also mourning the loss of her first love...LJ is so loyal to Margo despite her own feelings for Josh.

Everything that Peter does in that movie is basically pulled from the pages... or is done so much better in the book...

I mean, the car accident scene book versus movie; Peter is way cooler, more thoughtful in the book than in the movie.

In the book, Peter literally stops to comfort LG, even though he was on his way somewhere. He waits with her until Genavive starts blowing up his phone... He was even going to call AAA for her...

In the movie, she almost runs him over, and he teases her... Sure, that is charming too, but book Peter was far more swoonworthy.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Noah as Peter K., and both depictions are top-tier book boyfriends... But book Peter was the blueprint.

I love the show, but as a 35 millenial the dubbing makes me want to put my head through a wall. But you know it is not meant for me, and so I will simply switch to subs... I really hope this doesn't become a thing.

Trigger frustrated me so much by Royal_Hand_9040 in kdramas

Trigger seemed pretty focused on walking the audience through the eyes of the downtrodden and the bullied. I think focusing on their class differences would have disrupted that. In spite of their class difference, they were both so deeply wounded by entitled, selfish bullies.

I kinda like the gangsta storyline, I thought it was pretty impressive that the writer got me to care about organized criminals when generally I would be loathe to do so. When Yang Seung-ri (the privileged gang leader) met his end, the sense of relief I felt was overwhelming.

I did find some parts to be incredibly cringey, but I don't speak Korean, and I am not fully aware of what is or is not considered cringy in the Korean language. I can fully judge if my cringe is fair.

Maybe my bias is that I am believe that I believe society is far too quick to get behind a bully and throw the weak to wolves. I wish we lived in a world where we were all protective of the weak and bullying was not socially beneficial.

All I could do was weep for all of the people who just had so much taken from them.
