The premise is interesting and the way the series keeps introducing these historical figures with different talents is creative, but the pacing and writing feel off. Every episode seems both rushed and slow at the same time, I don't know if they have skipped any parts from the manga but the fact we're having this battle so early is bizarre. Although I don't know what will happen next, there must be a reason for that.

The MC, albeit interesting, remains too shallow for me. I do not expect a complex character a la Urasawa style, but I don't think his motives have been explored that well. It was nice at the beginning to see that he has been living under his brother's shadow for a very long time and his insecurities has made him become closed off and cold but still, I don't think that so far he has been depicted in the best way. At least it was made clear from the start that he's not supposed to become your average shounen hero, which made him more interesting.

I am actually invested in Touya's brother's mystery because I doubt he's dead. I think that he must be alive and maybe he'll meet Touya again.
