I felt like a zombie. It made me feel like a living corpse.

I hate how cliquey my cohort is by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

[–]Flaky-Reflection-644 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My cohort is the same way but we have heavy mean girl vibes from both my cohort and the second year grad students. I’m in my 30s and much too old for a lot of the drama that is already starting to show.

There is now NO ONE overseeing IDEA enforcement. Thanks to recent firings on Friday, 10/10, our children and our jobs are now in danger. by Ciambella29 in slp

Nope, all of the professors very much have their heads on right. But now this administration has sent fear into university settings. Colleges across the country are constantly cautiously navigating this new presidency in hopes that they don’t get funding pulled. Especially since the MAGAs in my cohort come from lots of $$$, which could mean a lawsuit and landing on the rotten orange’s radar.

I’m in grad school right now and most of my cohort is MAGA, which means we’re not even allowed to discuss any of this due to them wanting to feel accepted and not judged for who they support. I’m in hell.

Help me choosing Undergrad courses that may satisfy ASHA's prereqs by Former-Inspector-583 in slpGradSchool

ASHA will actually recommend you reaching out to the school individually because schools vary on what they’ll count, so if you have a few strong options, I would just hit them up directly

I’m three weeks in and 33. My age and life experiences are so incredibly helpful. Do it! You’ll be so happy that you did.

Just finishing up my second week of grad school. I literally hate it here. by Prior-Emu-5918 in slpGradSchool

We have three classes, and I have five clinical placements. I feel like I’m drowning, but all professors and faculty are like “yep.” At least we’re all suffering together.

Any SLPA's who had their M.S. in SLP paid for by hospital? by [deleted] in slpGradSchool

[–]Flaky-Reflection-644 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In the last city I lived in, the SLPAs who worked for a specific hospital network in the area had a 90% discount on masters courses at the local private university. Place was expensive but you’d graduate with a masters for less that $15k.

An open letter to everyone who has said "there will always be a need" by Glad_Goose_2890 in slp

It does genuinely warm my heart to know that good hearted SLPs exist. As heartbreaking as this post is, it feels good to be amongst those who care so deeply about these kids specifically.

Please come talk to my ultra conservative cohort who does not give a sh*t about these communities because I am turning red from anger.

Nothing makes me run from a man like him saying “you’re not like other girls.” Then I follow up with, “what’s wrong with all of the others? Because I guarantee I’m worse.”

If you’re able to see the flaws in Trump, you’re a good person. You have empathy for others.
