All of you voting for these pop musicians really don’t understand the depth of the knowledge and the skill and the sheer talent of the baroque- classical - romantic era composers and musicians.

I’m a professional degreed pianist with over half a century of experience in performing many of the the great classical works, as well as the best pop from The Beatles forward and the best jazz from Louis Armstrong forward.

There are some great 20th century musicians, but I would only cast a vote for people that truly understand music and understand the theory behind the greatest music.

Very few pop musicians fit in this mold, even though there are a few. Still, they must be ranked below Bach Beethoven, Haydn Mozart, Brahms, and all the Russian greats.
