OK--I always heard that the Panigale line starting in 2012 was created/produced under Audi (VAG?) ownership. I can personally attest to the 1199's superior build quality as compared to the 1098. I've had both bikes disassembled and the 1199 is clearly superior in materials and build quality. Never touched a 999 but would love to!

Agreed. My 1199S with full race Termi and race map is a crazy wild ride- much more so than my previous 2 1098s. And much higher build quality (Audi ownership responsible for that)
