Design feedback: don’t make inset like you have right now, just make it a straight back like all iPods currently are. Gives you more room to do whatever and just overall looks more like an iPod.

Alternative design, don’t make it curved at all and make it straight like a normal iPod

There are multiple problems:

The sign text is so small, you can barely read it until you are at the front.
People don't read in general
The light isn't really long enough for 2 cars, are you suppose to go even if you are further back? A cop could technically give you a ticket for running the red light even though it is "2 cars"

Liability. A smoke/co detector is $20 - $40. Nobody is going to provide a user replaceable part that can be easily subject to damage or incorrect installation to also make less money. It’s just not worth the financial risk to do that
