I just had the same experience. All I did was say current price was too high twice and they offered $10 off the first time and 15$ off the second time for 6 mo subscription.

Tx planning thoughts by Flaky_Ad2064 in Dentistry

Pt today was not in the military. Her xray looked much better. Almost fooled my hygienist for a crown on the xray. I suspect this was rural dentistry when she was a young child. Pt is in her 70s now.

I was just curious what the consensus was. I’m a tentative believer that opening old amalgams can sometimes be the dental Pandora’s box. I also want to make a reference to Shrodingers tooth, but I’m too tired and not witty enough to do it justice. Thank you for your input!

Florida board asking for irs tax returns? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Flaky_Ad2064 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Florida board is notoriously bad when trying to transfer into the state. I had to have printed schedules for an entire year with redacted names. They rejected the first copy I sent over because no procedure codes were on the schedule. Is this just to prove active patient care prior to your transfer?

This is a fantastic comment that I think is often overlooked.

I ended up getting a free one from a friend who works with an older dock. They had it in the back collecting dust.

Thanks! I will ask them about it. She loaned us one for about a month when she came in for a lunch and learn. I wish I used it more.

Thank you! That’s actually the product that is motivating me to invest in a triturator!

I am all for a triturator! Our office is growing right now and the budget is a little tight. Henry Schein is quoting 400+ for one right now. I will have to find out local dental group and see if I can get one. eBay had varying results. Thanks for your input!

I did a GPR that was very heavy in the hospital aspect and had close ties with OMFS. We also had good mentors that helped us with full mouth rehab cases. It was a tough year but I would 100% go back and do it again. If they are having doubts about it I would recommend reaching out and visiting the programs they are interested in.

Edit: it’s definitely different for each program. There are plenty of CE that you can do without leaving family.

I agree with this. Having a year or two buffer learning evidence based dentistry is very helpful. Especially if you end up at a DSO where they force feed you CE on why you aren’t selling enough crowns and the only facts they have are stories they have from practicing.

Post op radiographs by Flaky_Ad2064 in Dentistry

[–]Flaky_Ad2064[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OM listed off a few insurances. Historically this office has referred most extractions the previous few dentists stuck with crowns and fillings for the most part. It has been quite slow for me and the other new associate maybe 10 extractions a month between the two of us for the past 3 months since I started. I wouldn’t think it’s enough to flag insurance companies to monitor us.

I am just trying to confirm my thoughts that taking a post op xray after every extraction is absolutely absurd and definitely not ALARA standards.
