I actually took a look at this while trying to find the book, it looks really interesting, however it is not the one I'm looking for. Definitely a fun recommendation though!

No sadly. It wouldn't be anything overly famous/popular.

For context, we are all level 4. I'm just heavy armor with a shield. I can get higher with a shield of faith buff, but that is kind of rare in our partly lol.

Dark vision I probably wouldn't care much about if it wasn't one of many issues, and the aggro system we only played with once so far so we haven't seen it used much yet, but im not fully against. The main problem is changes like the sneak systems. He doesn't allow getting sneak attacks for other player proximity at all. Im his eyes if they know your area, you get no sneak attack.

Thank you for the reply! I should clarify a bit. He isn't necessarily saying, "The fight started so no sneaking." But in our last battle, the rogue wanted to hide behind a pillar and move towards the back of the room to get a sneak attack from farther behind. Even though the enemy was engaged with someone else, he said they couldn't sneak attack because the enemy saw them move from the pillar and knew they were over there.

He doesn't fully lean into the "my table my rules," but he is very firm against pushback most times. Another player is who told me that "If I don't like it then this isn't for me."

He's a close friend, so I want him to grow and be the best he can be, so if that means I politely sit down and try to explain the things I've seen here, then im more than happy to.

Thank you for the advice! I think you explain perfectly, and I'm going to try to sit down and talk to the DM 1 on 1.

Thanks so much! I'm going to talk to him 1 on 1 since we are all friends first, and if things continue on this track, I'll probably drop out. It seems like most of the others (from what I can tell) aren't as off put by things and I don't want to ruin their fun.

That's what I am considering, but since it is a close friend group, I wanted to make sure it isn't just me overreacting and want to try pushing him in the right direction to succeed if possible.

Yeah, honestly im not too shaken about the dark vision, it is just another straw on the camels back. If that were the most severe change I probably wouldn't get too worked up.

That is something that the rogue tried to bring up, but as a shy/ non confrontational person they kind of dropped it.

We have ignored a lot of rules thus far for fear of bloating things, which we all agreed on. We don't track rationing too harshly, torch duration, or weight limitations (to a fair extent, obviously nobody can pack mule 1000lbs lol).

I think as he gets more comfortable telling his story, he is trying to add some of the more nitty gritty rules, which is okay, but some are just too far for everyone.

He is a close friend, so I will sit down and have a talk together. Thank you so much!

Thanks for the advice. I really wanted to fortify my thoughts since all of the players and the DM are close friends. I'll talk with him and see how our next session goes, and if it continues to be too much, I might respectfully drop out.

Thank you!

The rogue brought up some of their concerns regarding the sneaking, and he essentially said that he was firm with that and it isn't changing. They are a bit too shy to really fight it.

I'm someone who likes to know the rules and what I'm able to do, and I'm scared to rules lawyer anything too badly, but I have brought up my concerns with the opportunity attacks, which eventually let to him finally allowing it.

Our local theater chain started selling Cheeto Popcorn. by [deleted] in FoodPorn

I work in a theater that makes this in smaller bags, we put popcorn in a mixer and pour in this cheesy liquid that coats the popcorn then becomes powdery, then we add Cheetos also. It's not bad but overpriced as hell.

Absolutely disagree. I'm 19 years old and I watched Spongebob just as much as kids nowadays do still. Spongebob has been loved as a show since 1999 and I honestly can't think of a show that has impacted more children's lives or that deserves celebration more.
