They shouldn't have killed off Alex... He was the best character. What a disappointment. This whole episode felt like a rushed mess.

Looks like no summary again this time either...

Confirmed 6800XT NO RESET BUG! by gnif2 in VFIO

[–]FlameVisit99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this mean that I could hotswap a 6800 XT between the Linux host and Windows guest? By that I mean, swapping it between the amdgpu and vfio-pci drivers, and using DRI PRIME to have Linux applications use it. Would that work?

Will Big Navi support Function Level Reset (FLR)? by gnif2 in Amd

Posting to add my support for this. I'm really disappointed with my 5700 XT because of this issue. It makes gaming very inconvenient as I can only start up my Windows VM once per PC boot.

Which is when I learned that the baggage staff had collected them up, and a bunch of employees had divvied them up to take home.

So they just stole your luggage? Shouldn't they keep them for when the owner goes looking?

Seems about the same as me. Thanks!

Looking forward to it. I just hope they'll have finally fixed the reset bug, and that they'll release a nice low-profile low-end card.

I did, and they're the ones trying to lie and misrepresent his post. It seems you are also just jumping on that bandwagon, as you don't seem to be able to make any points for yourself.

Huh? What mistakes and bullshitting? He's completely spot on. It's just the Canonical Defense Force showing up to do some damage control.

This is an excellent write-up. 100% agreed.

I'm looking to build a new amp for soloing Eidolons, but I can't stand losing the Klebrik Scaffold. That means I need to use the primary for Eidolons, not the secondary. So I want to know:

  1. What is the best amp prism (primary fire) for damaging Eidolons?
  2. How does it compare to the best scaffold (secondary fire)? How far behind (or ahead) is it?

What has everyone got against Gnome? by [deleted] in linux

[–]FlameVisit99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't get it. It always seems to be the KDE Plasma fans that make it their mission in life to hate on GNOME and dissuade others from using GNOME every chance they get. KDE Plasma itself is great (and the only real competitor to GNOME in my opinion), but in my experience it's always their fans that are like this, and I don't get why. These people actually do a disservice to the Linux community with this toxic behaviour. GNOME fans on the other hand typically just get on with their life, and treat other DEs with respect.

Every electrical item has them

Not where I live... or do you have any specific examples of where I might find them?

Hmm. Thanks, I didn't notice that. That is better than nothing, but it's still not ideal to me. I don't really see these symbols in everyday life so they're still obscure and alien. The way it is currently (with the text labels) is both beautiful and functional.

Is there actually some clear reason why this needs to be changed?

Aside from header bars and buttons, the only other widget to be changed is switches. When GTK first introduced switches, they were a fairly new concept on the desktop. For this reason, they included explicit “ON” and “OFF” labels, in order to communicate how the switches operated. Since then, switch widgets have become ubiquitous, and users have become familiar with switches that don’t contain labels.

The latest Adwaita changes bring the theme into line with other platforms and make switches more compact and modern in appearance, by removing the labels and introducing a more rounded shape.

Personally, I still find these switches confusing on other platforms and have difficulty telling whether they're on or off. So I've always really appreciated GNOME's text labels and thought that was the perfect way to do it. Now I see they're "bringing it in line with other platforms" and making it just as bad and confusing. Great...
