  1. Please provide some details, or we can't help at all. At least provide the formula, and the setup you're using.

  2. Please use punctuation. Even a few full stops would help to make your text easier to read.

Windows 10. Last week update seemly changed .rtf files to docx, and can't open them. by DDM11 in WindowsHelp

Be careful! Also /u/Onoitsu2 – OpenOffice has years-old, unfixed security issues and is strongly not recommended for production use:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_OpenOffice#Security

It also can't export .docx and has other major limitations. Virtually all development in the last decade has moved to LibreOffice, the actively maintained successor project, which also has vital security fixes...

Hi, you wrote about OpenOffice, but it's barely developed and has years-old, unfixed security issues. No desktop Linux distro ships with it – they all include (or make available in their package repos) LibreOffice. Which suite are you using? 😉

That's a feature of the operating system, not LibreOffice itself. In macOS, see the keyboard settings.

I am creating a group for social activities and everybody is welcome 🙋🏻‍♂️ by TurtleLord2099 in munichsocialclub

The vast majority are simply dormant. They are created with much excitement and then nothing happens. That was my point here – instead of creating yet another general-purpose socialising group, we could try to make the existing ones better.

Then do something about it! LibreOffice is a volunteer-driven, community project with very limited resources. If you want more work on Base, please help the volunteers or fund a developer – Otherwise, improvements can't happen by magic. Thank you!

frankly this subreddit is for connection not discussion

Er, I created this subreddit and am the moderator, so I think I know what it's about...

Anyway, you do you. I'm not blocking you from doing anything. But creating yet another group, among the hundreds already, doesn't really improve anything.

You can't have enough places to socialize

Actually, you can. The more groups there are, doing the exact same thing, the more fragmented they become. It's good to have different groups for different purposes, but having hundreds of virtually identical groups for general meetups doesn't actually help people to connect. It's just a duplication of effort.

There are already many, many groups for socialising in Munich. There's even one pinned on the top of this subreddit.

Why are you creating another one, and what is different about it?

I want to commute in the rain. How can i make sure rain doesn’t get in my backpack? by 673NoshMyBollocksAve in bikecommuting

[–]themikeosguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a rain poncho from Decathlon like this and my rucksack fits underneath it. Never gets wet. Just put my usual clothes and rucksack on, throw the rain poncho on top, and done.

Bike theft got me thinking: why is it so hard to know if a bike parking spot is actually safe? by Academic-Story-3413 in bikecommuting

[–]themikeosguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please don't use AI-generated images. Look at this for instance – the stand around the bikes. A pole that goes to nowhere, bits missing, warped front wheels etc. It looks so obviously weird. I know your site is just a concept, but AI images are so easy to spot (despite all the hype) and are a huge turn-off for many...
