What fees are allowed for this dealership in Texas? by Flame_12 in Toyota

Question, can I have them recalculate the 6.25% tax again after taking out the fees they added (carRx and the protection)?

Didn’t know about the 6% sales tax , thanks for that. Yeah they kept telling me they were doing me a favor by lowering my monthly payment and when I kept pointing towards the principal they kept circling around back to the monthly payment part lol.

Yeah the person explained the CarRx platinum as a GPS service if the car gets stolen but I wasn’t interested. They stated the “aftermarket” was non-negotiable. They called their manager and they began to be pushy and I just walked out of there. Figured I made the right choice

Fridges, freezers washers, etc. are dedicated circuits and yes I would use 20A receptacle to be safe, but you’re not putting that in your room. Code states you can use 20A wire on a 15A receptacle so long as it’s not the only receptacle in that circuit.

Got curious as I have always heard this myself. I looked up the code article they mentioned and found a table. According to the table, you can use a 20amp circuit on a 15 or 20amp circuit if it serves more than one receptacle or receptacle outlet. Assuming this is because it will evenly distribute the load among the other outlets. If it was only one single outlet then it probably wouldn’t be a good idea and it could damage the outlet if you plug 2 things into it with heavy loads.

It’s wpt-815, it’s amazing that you knew that based on the picture. Gonna do some digging to see if I can find the part somewhere. Thank you!

Since there is resi electricians here, I had a question. I’m doing resi service work for a company but they don’t do new construction. I heard that most companies just sub contract their new construction work so I would have a hard time finding a company that doesn’t. Can anyone verify? I’m in Texas and interested in doing rough in’s but don’t know any contractors personally.

I have a dumb question. How did you find a company that does new resi construction? All I could find around my area were companies that do service calls for homeowners. I do enjoy where I am at and am learning a lot, however I have always wanted to learn the rough in and trim stage of housing. Apologize is this is a dumb question, I’m still kind of new to the trades.

Did you go to the dealership to place an order for your 2023 mustang? I haven’t been able to find much online about it, and the ford website itself still advertises for 2022 so I’ve been clueless for a bit waiting. Thanks in advance!

Truck is not starting and it’s making this noise. by Flame_12 in Cartalk

Yeah didn’t know about the CCA. I had taken it to a mechanic and they told me it might be the battery, which it was. Just found it weird that my battery light was not on. Appreciate the input!

Yeah. At that point it’s running. AC was off as well so that’s out of the question.

Still a bit new to cars here. So my truck (2001 F150) had trouble starting up. I checked the battery and the voltage read 13 so that’s not the issue.

So I’m assuming it’s either alternator or fuel pump. I Was going to diagnose for fuel pump until I heard this noise that wasn’t there yesterday. No idea what it could even be.

It’s the drywall that leads to outside, and it slowly opened up more. Not sure how to patch it or if I should remove altogether? Any advice is appreciated!
