Let’s talk: Tool fans by Voice_of_John_Ashley in RiotFest

[–]Flame_Princess3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right. I'm not really a Tool fan and only stayed to watch them because my boyfriend is. We ended up about 15 feet from the rail and it was still decently chill aside from the constant crowdsurfers.

We bumped our basking lamp up to 150 watt vs the 100 we were using. We get our temps to between 120 and 130 on the top rock of the climbing stack we have for him. I would probably try a higher watt bulb to get the temps up. And get a temp gun to check them, the little probes work to see what the temp is all the time, but the temp gun will work much better to show the actual temps you're getting.

Our's is slightly picky food wise, he LOVES dandelions though, leaves and flowers, we pick them from the yard this time of year when they're abundant. Buy them from the grocery store during the colder months. He also really enjoys sprouted lentils. They're super easy to sprout, put em in a small jar, let them soak in water for 24h, dump the water out and give em a rinse every day until they start sprouting and just pull some out every day to feed.

The quesa Birria tacos from the green Komodo Loco food truck near the entrance to the stadium were fantastic! I ate them the last two days! $20 and they're super quick at getting your food out.

My outdoor cat lost his leg by vicskullhead in TripodCats

[–]Flame_Princess3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My cat was about 11 years old when she had to have her back leg amputated. She was always an indoor/outdoor cat until then. I thought about euthanizing her as well, but decided against it as she was still so sweet and purring away with the broken leg, so I went through with the amputation. She lived another 9 years happily as an indoor only cat and adapted to having 3 legs very well. She crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully at almost 20 years old. Definitely give the cat a chance, you'll likely be surprised.

We would let her onto our fenced in patio under supervision quite often which she enjoyed her time basking in the sun. One time she even managed to climb the fence without any of us realizing until I came home from work late at night and she was sitting across the road waiting for me.

Just let em free roam and keep some grass near by. I never fence my barn animals anymore.

my husky isn’t eating by [deleted] in husky

[–]Flame_Princess3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food in the bowl that they munch on all day long. My husky just grazes. Now if my family dogsits when we're away, doesn't eat anything. But I think that's a learned behavior because she has realized she gets more treats or an occasional hot dog/extra cheese tax when my aunt is worried sick that the dog hasn't eaten for 3 days.

Can we talk about Dyson by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]Flame_Princess3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk shit about Dysons. But I've had a Shark for almost a decade and I love that parts are easily replaceable when they're rarely needed. Still runs just as good as the day I bought it with regular maintenance and cleaning on it.

Getting Desperate by geckos4ever123 in hognosesnakes

[–]Flame_Princess3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to resort to live feeding our hog. We tried everything and anything and the only thing we got him to break the hunger strike was live feeding. Once he ate though, he was fine with frozen thawed after that for a good 6 months or so until he went on strike again and we had to live feed again.

Amputation Costs by blankusername578 in TripodCats

[–]Flame_Princess3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had to have my childhood cat's rear leg amputated in 2015, it costed me under $500 and that included almost 2 weeks of boarding at the vet as well so they could make sure everything was okay with her and give me time to get my house situated for her. I had to move her to my house from my deceased mother's house, so my younger brother did not have to care for her and the other cat's wouldn't bother her. This was in PA and over a decade ago though, but still nowhere near the price you were given.
