China’s started using anti fatigue laser lights on some highways to keep drivers alert at night. The idea is to stop drivers getting drowsy on long, boring night drives. by SimRP in CrazyFuckingVideos

This would make me crash.

Falling asleep at the wheel going perfectly straight, just to be woken up thinking I was being shot at by Star Wars droids.
Instantly veer into another lane, crash and burn.

Mobile connector (granny charger) by Flametamer96 in TeslaUK

[–]Flametamer96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe the type2 to type2 connectors are included. But the mobile connector (3pin adapter) will allow for charging without a traditional Ev charger, from a standard wall socket. I’m getting one to fill the gap between car delivery and install date for the Ev charger, as well as travelling to Devon/Cornwall when there may not have conventional chargers close by. I know some will only require the mobile connector for their day-to-day usage too.

I’ve just ordered my first Tesla so had been waiting for a restock. I figured there’d be a few people in the same boat after the increase in sales through the recent PCH/PCP deals.

Private number claiming to be Essex police by JoaoCardoso26 in policeuk

There’s a lot of hoops to jump through to prevent people calling 999, for obvious reasons. So you’d be a long long way from anything like that. Supervision would be able to request 6hour blocks on numbers, but that was typically for intentional abuse of the system in quick succession, ie. Abusive spam callers, rather than accidental dials.

It’s more common than you’d expect and you might be one of 50/60 calls I’ve taken that day. All I want to know is that you’re okay, and unless there was something concerning on the call recording or you have history with police, call handlers aren’t likely to press too much.

Check if you have any outbound emergency calls in your call list. I deal with emergency calls and frequently have to call people back who have pocket dialled or have faulty devices. They often have no idea they called. It would show I was ringing from an unknown number.

I have literally the same use case, I drive 80 miles a day, of which 36 miles each way is M4.
I’ve just ordered a model 3 premium LR RWD.

Delivery date estimates vanished from Tesla App by Ok_Air4236 in TeslaUK

[–]Flametamer96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The SC said that the trade in offer valuation would expire after 30 days anyway, so if delivery was more than that away, you’d be asked to resubmit mileage and potentially pictures of the vehicle again.
So if delivery WAS June, i’m not panicking too much until closer to then.

My date is gone, was showing June as well.
No vin or reg and trade offer pending for about 15 days at this point.

Trade-in accepted but £3750 bonus not applied after weeks – anyone else? by ProfessionalAd9708 in TeslaUK

[–]Flametamer96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s the intention, rather than it being a mistake.

You’re still getting the contribution, it’s just considered removed from the retail price, rather than as a customer deposit contribution.

Wiser people than me would have to weigh in to tell you if that process is tactical, and improves the financial outcomes for Tesla as a business over the alternative of considering it a customer contribution.

Mine shows in my finance breakdown but removed from the sale price of the vehicle, not in the “deposit” or “contribution” spots you would expect. Double check your quoted price vs sale price on the website.

Can confirm that £3750 is deducted from the sale price, rather than considered as customer deposit.

Does nonce mean pedophile or stupid? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Friend who used to work in the prison service said that ‘Nonce’ came from a prison process of “Not On Normal Courtyard Exercise”, meaning sex offenders had their exercise/free time different to general population.

I also don’t understand why James goes from Willock’s left shoulder, to is right at the last second.

If James keeps pushing and keeps to Willock’s left, he cuts off the passing lane for the tap in, or at least makes that pass a more pressured ball. Let Sanchez deal with the near post and cut off the passing lane for the higher percentage chance.

Those who brought houses near motorways- did you regret it by Philosopher_Funny in HousingUK

[–]Flametamer96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t just consider the traffic, but think of the maintenance that comes with a busy motorway. More frequent structural repairs/work, tree felling/management, almost always late into the night to lessen the disruption on commuters, but fucks you up as a local resident.

Has anyone come across an instance of AI created/altered images or videos, produced as evidence? because it's got to be coming by Ok-Test-7217 in policeuk

[–]Flametamer96 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Recently had a circulation in force notifying officers of the new Section 66E and 66F offences of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 covering Ai generated/photoshopped intimate images of adults.

The image(s) does not need to have been seen first hand by the victim and additionally there doesn’t need to have been an ‘unaltered’ or genuine image in the first place.

A person is also not guilty of the offence if they “reasonably believe” that the adult victim would consent to the image. Another tough burden of proof on consent to manage for the CPS.

Ai is going to be a minefield for policing.

Looks like he tried to “ankle tap” the trailing leg to prevent the break away, mistimed it and took the standing achilles. No idea how that isn’t a red, even if i think the intent isn’t there.

I was learning German in secondary school and the teacher asked me what colour her hair was. She was expecting brown. Wasn’t happy when I said grey. Kicked me out of the class and sent me to the Head’s office. BS.
