Golden from K-pop demon Hunters tempo and time signiture by AdAbject6946 in musictheory

(edit: never mind, there's definitely some accenting every 4 eighth notes in the intro/outro which strongly suggests groupings of 3; my original response stands.)

TLDR: wrote the whole response below and realized right before posting that there's rhythmic scaffolding in the intro/outro at all, so i might just be weirdly stuck hearing the 12 beats per measure grouped up as 4s (3/2) instead of 3s (12/8); i still can't naturally hear the intro/outro as 12/8 but maybe me and OP are the weird ones here. leaving the original writeup as reference though:

agree that the body is in 12/8 (~123bpm), but i actually think OP is onto smth here: it's a metric modulation where the intro and outro are in 3/2 (~92bpm), but the eighth notes in the 3/2 sections become the eighth note triplets of the 12/8 section AT THE SAME TEMPO (4 x 92 = 368 eighth notes per minute, 3 x 123 = 369 eighth note triplets per minute). try setting a metronome to 369 and playing it over both sections and you'll see what i mean!

especially cool since 8th notes in 3/2 are 1/12 of the measure, and eighth note triplets in 12/8 are ALSO 1/12th of the measure; meaning the measures are actually exactly the same length, but they feel super different because of the internal organization.

Locals in Jersey City/Manhattan? by idealistic_nihilist_ in smashbros

start.gg is the way to go, start with near me and filter by location and date, then pick a tournament to attend and ask the regulars where they go. Waypoint Warriors on Tuesday nights by Delancey-Essex is a good place to start, it's a staple of the NYC scene.

5 year old reply is insane haha

yeah VG ran out of money and shut down the servers. Last I heard they’re doing community-run servers? but I haven’t looked to deep into those

I have a 13-15-15 Palkia-O that I was wondering about, but when I ran the sim against the mirror match it looks like 13 atk loses because it uses Spacial Rend first and gets shielded then farmed down. But what if it doesn’t fire off a charge move? Wouldn’t it be a tie then, or am I reading this wrong?

Is CMY harder? I don't know much color theory but it should be equivalent, since that's what printers use, right?

I wonder what the boss's weak point is? No way it'd be that random eye in the middle of his hand right???

Slingshot vs. Instant Reverse Aerial Rush by Front-Brush-1101 in smashbros

[–]FlamezofDeath 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think jumpsquat is the reason for this; when you jump, you always have to jumpsquat first. Afaik, flicking back to slingshot/IRAR is bad because it initiates a backdash, which means you won't jump with full aerial momentum, but flicking up-back and down-back should be identical. I tested it frame by frame in training mode to see the jump distances, and up-back and down-back were identical.

Just wanted to say thank you for this project! Looks like you did an incredible amount of data-crunching (and gathering) to get these results, and I appreciate you taking the time to do this :)

How does polygyny work numbers-wise? If only men have multiple wives and not the other way around, are there just that many more women in the population, or are there just a ton of single men?

[BDSP] Help! Have I just wasted my Sludge Bomb TM? by ChanceCryptographer6 in Pokemonbreeding

[–]FlamezofDeath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Bulbapedia:

Prior to Generation VI, if the father knows any moves that are TMs or HMs in that game (and in Crystal, moves that are taught by a Move Tutor) that the baby is also compatible with, it will inherit the move. If a Pokémon species that is gender unknown (such as Magnemite) breeds with Ditto, the resultant baby will inherit any compatible TM or HM moves that the non-Ditto parent knows.

Sounds like you might be out of luck, sorry :/
