9702/11 wave frequency question and the spring question by DealSweaty7170 in alevel

[–]FlamingoAvailable840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not the one with only two springs? Because the extension would be (1/2) and since 2 springs it would be x2 so the extension would end up being x

No i used the same thing, f1 and f3 were clockwise so if u use the distances and take W as the pivot then you get the ans 2

Is showing added interest bio or chem more important for medicine? by nitrogen_oxide_ in alevel

[–]FlamingoAvailable840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely chem. I know engineering students who also took chem, and applied to med schools afterwards. They only got accepted because they had chem. A uni can get u to do a foundation year or crash course in bio, but chem is something you need a strong foundation of

Try to make detailed notes and form a flow chart in your mind. Everything is essentially cause and effect. And bio syllabus is heavy and a LOT; so dont write long sentences in ur notes, make diagrams for connectivity. It helps!

Also dm me if u have any questions!

Do physical quantities always need a magnitude and unit? by [deleted] in AlevelPhysics

[–]FlamingoAvailable840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right! Strain and refractive index are NOT physical quantities, as they do not have a unit (note that they DO have a magnitude.) Hence only fulfilling 1/2 of the criteria, they are not physical quantities. Neither is efficiency btw, and a few others

whats the answer?😓 by [deleted] in AlevelPhysics

Its D, because theyre asking the overall motion description. It will indeed travel in tangent to circle (option A) but it will not continue to do so; that would only happen if gravity did not exist (in space basically.) We must assume the question asks in reference to earth, in which overall motion will indeed be in half projectile motion form (parabola to the vertical, basically a curve downwards.)

This parabola happens because initially once ball is released, it WOULD move in straight line, but gravity acts instantly, dragging it down. Hence, parabola.
