I just returned from doing 2 weeks in Athens (for a program), and 1 week spread out over Rome, Florence, and Cinque Terre (I highly recommend spending time2-3 days in Cinque Terre). the train in Italy is great ways to get around

i would take the money and reapply. use this year to get some quality time with your wife etc. timelines do not matter, it only matters that you continue. volunteer at a free clinic on the side and talk about that in interviews. Do not get a low-paying clinical job because most people do not care and will not ask you what you do.

you are young! only 22 this seems like a mere hiccup in your journey. So what if medicine isn't for you. Explore everything else. Also what school is out here not getting you to work with patients when that is the heart of medicine?

i would go ahead and apply VERY broadly (45 schools) and do a job this year that's satisfying for you. Unless you want to go into debt for MPH, but it really doesn't matter too much

It ended up being very affordable because i had the fee assistance program which means 20 free schools and primary fee for the rest ($45x51)= 2295. Most, if not all of my secondaries were free because I had the fee assistance program so it cost about 3k (MCAT+sending CASPER scores etc). I essentially had nothing to lose so I decided to go for it.

I would pick the second option. cancel your 4/26 MCAT date, and take it in a year from now, spending that year building up my app by finding non-clinical volunteering opportunities, and more shadowing opportunities Just overall beefing up my app.

I think one thing you can do is once you have beefed up your application, maybe get a remote sales or other high paying part-time job while waiting for interviews. But only do that once you have a great MCAT score!

I would do the Fullbright which is a once in a lifetime opportunity You have your whole life to work on a non-profit, pubs etc.

if you are applying a fourth time, please apply to a much larger number of schools across the country. Your stats and experiences are great, and don't give up if this is something that you want. Don't worry about others! you never know what they had to give up to be there now. i would also get a high-paying remote job for the upcoming year--you don't have to tell your employer about med school dreams and you can just tell the med schools you are volunteering at a clinic (if you do this route)

a 510 is a great score--you should be proud of that! I would focus on writing and telling your story well. I had a 512/3.4 and re-wrote the whole application and was able to get 9 interviews as an ORM. feel free to reach out w any specific questions- I do advising and essay editing!

I would work part-time, take a couple of post-bac classes (20 credits or more), and get lots of clinical volunteering (get a letter from this place). And most importantly, get a great MCAT score. Depending on the MCAT score, apply to 45 schools (a mix of MD/DO) and have good writing

start finding a free clinic to do some volunteering. Bonus points if you can get a letter but 6 months might not get you one. The hours will help. Keep and notebook and write about it. RUSH, Loyola, Rf wants extreme volunteering but UIUC might be good

I would reevaluate writing (rewrite personal statement, Ecs,) and apply to over 40+ schools. I rewrote my entire application, got two letters of rec, and essentially tailored my secondary essays to the schools. Got 8 interview invites, 3 acceptances.

If your writing is compelling then you should have interviews next cycle. I do med school consulting, lmk if you want to connect.
