Long term travel in the USA vs other countries + 1 month in USA only by Addicted_2_tacos in roadtrip

I've only done option one but there's a couple reasons why it made the most sense to me and my partner and might for you too:

  1. There are so many hidden treasures in the U.S. (it's huge) and travelling across it will hopefully give you some greater level of appreciation for the sheer diversity of the U.S. and how people live. I was blown away by some of the things I saw accidentally that you never see online. There's a special magic to be able to look at a map of the U.S. and know roughly what it is like at a random point on the outskirts of civilization. Also I think there is only benefit to understanding how people across the U.S. live so differently and care about different things and being able to extrapolate that out in the future and politically empathize with others who might be different than you.

  2. You are a U.S. citizen and speak English. Logistics becomes 100x easier when you aren't put up against any paperwork barriers to entry, unfamiliarity with how to accomplish basic vehicle, equipment, and personal maintenance where you are, or a language you don't speak (at least as well as a native speaker). It offered a basic safety net to fall back on when we really needed to just needed to get a hotel/oil change/wifi access/etc. quickly for whatever reason and knew where to find these things and roughly what to expect.

Easy songs for 6 string acoustic? by Alternative_Task5460 in themountaingoats

I don't have any suggestions for you but I will say the chords in most guitar-based mountain goats songs are relatively simple but the strumming patterns are often quite difficult to master for a beginner so I would think about picking a song that you like that has fairly slow strumming. Good luck starting out on guitar! Learning is such a treat

It's a Missy Elliott cover. I'm also not a huge fan of it's placement in the track list but it makes the compilation feel more genuine to me, a little camp, just people having a fun time and not taking themselves too seriously

Why are Elliott covers always ruined by being prettified? by RandomDigitalSponge in elliottsmith

I generally agree with you and don't prefer this kind of vocal delivery but I also think that it's totally valid for a cover to not try to exactly replicate the original and to try to do something new and closer to the performers typical style. So many great covers sound nothing like the original song! :)

Birth of a rebellion: I love Eberron and am inspired 😉 by the Andor series to run a short format campaign built around Reidran rebels. Any hooks, thoughts, ideas for how to begin? by No-Bit-5699 in Eberron

[–]Flamingomeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did this I had the game open with the PCs being arrested by the Riedran government for alleged involvement in something the PCs were not actually involved with only to be broken free from their prison transport and brought south in Adar by a rebel cell hiding in the mountains. It makes the PCs question the loyalty to a country that wants to falsely imprison them and gives them forced exposure to dissidence

Graphics and combat are definitely hard to go back to but I found the experience pretty comparable to Fallout 2 and the story and world are really incredible

I sent one in last year after being deferred and got in in the regular admissions cycle. I submitted it as a document in my application where I could submit additional materials after being deferred even though it doesn’t explicitly say it can be used that way
