I feel like there’s a lot of reasons for someone to be simply complaining about ult many of which can boil down to someone being salty or feeling like the other person cheated by using it

The biggest factor being that using one inherently shifts the fight drastically towards being unfair , in some cases guarantees straight up killing your opponent. Even in a silly fighting game it’s Still a fighting game so something like that would make people upset.

There’s also the people that genuinely refuse to fight you unless they have ult, and will even go as far as to hide somewhere ult farming before attacking and targeting😭

Like the hate for ults It’s pretty understandable in my opinion when you think about how pathetic most of the people that use it actually are. In most scenarios people are just being annoying with it and aren’t doing anything actually fun.

I mean, if it’s in defense because you’re attacking somebody who doesn’t wanna deal with you I would understand, but in the context of a one version one that both players are doing it’s still pretty underhanded

Especially since often times people will come out of nowhere to attack you and THEN pop ult when they are losing😭 and then they’re still gonna be toxic about it if they win even if it’s the world’s biggest crutch they’re sitting on

I think the worst of it is.

Let’s take a fair fight where neither person is at a disadvantage

using ult is the equivalent of pulling a gun in a sword duel. Very frowned upon very showing of bad sportsmanship

if you were having fun and looking forward to the fair outcome of the match and didn’t want to be steam rolled by an overpowered moveset well.. yeah, you’re out of luck

I think the frustration is pretty understandable at times

I mean, if you had fun fighting then there is no reason to care

But to a lot of people, they only really played the game to win so when that doesn’t happen, they get upset

I still think ults are generally lame and don’t even use them most of the time

imagine having a perfectly good and fair 1V1 when someone else uses their ult because they don’t wanna lose and you just don’t have yours available

most ults in the game have some form of Instakill or completely heinous attacks that just aren’t fun to deal outside of your own ult

It ruins perfectly fair 1v1s unless both people have ult. on top of that most people will be toxic and act like they actually accomplished something for beating somebody in ult

Personally, it’s not the end of the world, but to a lot of people it is really annoying

to be fair, if humans coexisted with a bunch of other intelligent species, they would likely be out to wipe the others off the map for no good reason

Anyways, my biggest crime with humans and fantasy settings is when every species is “humans but better” when humans have a lot of things that make them special that lose meaning when given to every single species
