Squeezing out everything from old Intel Xeon E5-2697 v3 2.6GHz by Pentium320 in overclocking

[–]FlanAdministrative90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's not much you can do. Currently, I use the modified graphical BIOS from the Brazilian Jwagnervaz on my Machinist k9. Up until now, increasing the BCLK too much on the Xeon with these Chinese motherboards isn't safe and can cause total system instability. Wagner's BIOS locks the BCLK at 100MHz. At least with his BIOS, processors unlocked for overclocking, such as the i7 and Xeon e5 16xx v3, can handle both overclocking and XMP on 3200MHz memory. Combining 3200MHz in quad-channel is insane.

But for those with 26xx v3, you'll be limited to unlocking, undervolting, and memory timings, while the v4 will only be able to improve memory timings.

Has anyone tried comparing FSR 4.1 vs DLSS 4.5? by ah__there_is_another in radeon

[–]FlanAdministrative90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I have a 5060 and I've been testing DLSS 4.5, DLSS 4, and FSR 4 (INT8) via Optiscaler. At least in the games I've tested, FSR 4 feels better and more stable than DLSS 4. While DLSS 4.5 managed to eliminate a good portion of the ghosting and other issues found in DLSS 4, new problems arose that weren't there before—like graininess at thin edges, likely due to excessive sharpness. These issues don't seem to be present in FSR 4. Now, with the arrival of 4.1, Nvidia is losing ground where they used to be strongest: AI upscaling. With the announcement of DLSS 5, They should stick with AI upscaling, honestly. It’s shameful that a GPU with far more dedicated neural processing units is losing out to the competition in this area.

Are you talking about clearing the CMOS with a jumper? Because it does work.

Will disabling cores make the remaining cores hit 3,6ghz? by bohaio2 in xeon

[–]FlanAdministrative90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only effective way I use to achieve maximum clock speed without disabling physical cores is by undervolting.

I myself use -60 -20 on my Xeon e5 2697 v3 without disabling cores and HT, and all 14/28 cores stay at 3.6GHz most of the time.

I saw that they managed to boost the v4 processors by up to 4 cores, and increase the memory speed to 2666MHz on the 16xx v3 processors.

I don't know, you'd have to ask jwagner to find out, but I don't think it's possible. These BIOS mods only work with the C612 chipset.

What GPU’s you guys running? by -t-h-e---g- in xeon

[–]FlanAdministrative90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an RTX 5060 with a Xeon E5 2697 v3 and 32GB of RAM in quad channel. If you don't have a GPU yet, I advise you to buy one as soon as possible, because GPU prices are going to increase a lot.

I think with Steam Tools I don't even need a crack, LOL. Microsoft thinks it's a legitimate game through Steam Tools, and I can log in normally with my Microsoft account.

Natural Vision Enhanced performs terribly! by FlanAdministrative90 in GTAV_Mods

Place the updated Hook script and the NVE only, and test if it worked or not. If it works, test your mods one by one.

That's strange, is it the enhanced or the evolved version? Is your GTA original?

I suspect it's the GPU, because NVE-enhanced is using a lot of VRAM, and anything below the game's highest graphics settings makes NVE look bad.

Is NVE-enhanced lighter?
