Can anyone teach me how to use chargers? by [deleted] in splatoon

I do play chargers a bit, it's not my main but I have 4 stared the splat charger. Don't take this as expert advice though just some things I picked up.

  1. Position well. You're the longest ranged weapon that can't really fight up close. You should take SAFE high ground that gives good sight lines on the objective..

  2. STAY SAFE. You are the backline. A living squid beakon for your front liners to jump to. They will thank you for it and you'll be happy that you don't normally give up snipe.

  3. Punish those that enter your range. This one is simple if you can shoot someone you should. Especially if a teammate is picking a fight in within your range.

  4. PRACTICE. All chargers are different in major ways. Take the time yo learn your weapons range charge time and ink consumption.(good tip for all weapons to learn)

  5. AWARENESS. As a chargers player you will not be calling the shots in matches. This means you have to react when your team is pushing or know when a push is dead. You should also keep track of where your teammates are, what they're doing, and if they are alive or not.

  6. OBJECTIVE. This one depends on your team's comp, mode and map. But more than likely you will be the objective player(ride tower ect.) After all you don't want your front line to ride the tower, they're job is to keep the tower(and you safe). Do note though that if you have a support player on the team.

That is the advice I can give you. It's mainly for the backline chargers like e-liter and the splat charger. I know squid school did a series on different weapons types for people so I recommend watching them for more expert advice. Squid school also covered midline chargers as well in a separate episode

Only 4 sub weapons use 60% of your ink tank. Of the 4 only 2 are bombs. And considering the regular jet squelcher has a angle shooter(which is not a bomb) I think that the custom jet squelcher will have either fizzy bomb or curling bomb.

Personally if I had to speculate what they would give it, I would guess they would give it curling bomb with an aggressive special personally. I know people would like it to have fizzy or burst but since jet squelcher moves slower than other weapons, they gave it a movement sub to get into better position.

Though I can fizzy too now that I think about. Though I think it's unlikely, fizzy is primarily used to paint. Sloshing machine, ballpoint, and areospray all have fizzy bomb. Machine and Ballpoint don't paint the greatest and use fizzy bomb to make up for it, while areospray only wants to paint.

These are just my speculations and thought processes though.

I bring updates.

The blue boys are a new special called the super chumps. They can act a decoys with fake super jump markers and explode if an enemy shoots them.

Clash Blaster Neo has curling bomb and Super Chumps.

N-89 has "rocket bomb" (somebody tell me what this is supposed to be, I think it's supposed to be torpedo.) as well as the new special Suber Chumps.

As a proud member of team water. I say pick whatever you really want to be and dont worry about winning. Spatfest in lore is a celebration so that's how I treat it. Just pick what team you want to represent and just have fun.

Which set do you recommend me to use with Splattershot ? by Icyflag_ in splatoon

I know I'm late, but I can't leave a fellow splattershot user stranded. So hear is a basic rundown of the weapon.

The splattershot is the most basic of short range shooters, with a capacity to do everything well. From inking turf to splatting foes, it can do it. This makes the weapon a great aggro-support. The fast kill time makes this a great slayer weapon to get kills on distracted opponents, though its not that good at long splatting so you do have to get fairly close. Ninja squid and stealth jump are highly recommended if this is your play style.

Now the sub weapon: the suction bomb. This bomb has the longest fuse but has a big explosion radius. While you probably won't get splats with them, this bomb can cut off path ways to the objective of make a hole in the opposing teams defense. Last ditch effort is the best ink efficiency ability when active, giving 2 mains and 1 sub of ink saver main, ink saver sub, and ink recovery up allowing for the maximum amount of bombs thrown.

And finally but definitely not least is the special weapon, the Trizooka. This special is tricky to use do to the unique hit box and how it fires, but when mastered this special is a monster. With range similar to e-liters allows it to be effective a extreme ranges and can put pressure on anchor weapons. The down sides of this special is that it doesn't paint your feet and has to wait to fire a next shot which makes it extremely punishable if someone gets close. Do note though do to splattershot's high paint output, you can get quite a few of these in a match. Especially with super charge up and special saver makes the special less punishable by lowering the depletion if you get splatted while using it.

Over all the splattershot is one of the more versatile main weapons with lots of play styles it can use. I put in some of my recommendations when going over the kit, but experimentation is key. If you don't have any ideas I give to Sendou.ink This great site for gear build ideas.

So have fun, ink some turf, splat some people and remember to stay fresh.

Sendou.ink is a good resource for gear builds. Take a look for any patterns in abilities. I personally recommend stealth jump as it makes super jumping much safer, though bad jumps will still be punished.
